Just a thought, Andrew, are the guys going to remove the starboard engine nacelle so that it doesn’t get damaged during transport, witness damage to 894, 889, 900 & possibly others where the drivers have had to brake suddenly and the load shifts a little, crushing the front lip of the nacelle.

There was a member on this forum whom worked on the collection at East Midlands (totally forgotten his name at the mo) and we offered to recharge the undercarriage legs for them last year, but we have heard nothing and can only assume that it is not a priority to them. Maybe worth trying to chase it up again, if I could only remember his name

You’re looking cool and refreshed there Mr buccsociety 🙂

I would hardly say I was cool, what with all that Grey hair, and I am only 33 yrs old, but refreshed, absolutely!! 😀 For those not in the know, I am the one on the far Left of the pic with the Green overalls and the Black T-Shirt, cheers Mark, are you going to the Delta Day at Kemble in September?? 😎

Any changes to the paint schemes for the Buccaneers XX894 and XW554 planned..?

Not sure about 544, but there are plans to repaint 894 in the future but not yet, funds have to be found and it is certainly not one of our priorities, a bit of polish on the Naval Scheme does wonders, see below!! Note the reflections of the crew against the aircraft.

Tyres are not an issue for XX894 once she is up and running, we have three sets of main and two sets of nose tyres, we could be persuaded to part company with a set if the funds are correct.
We have a constant supply of scrubbed rubber and this will continue for the foreseeable future.
544 main problems lie in the lack of engines and leaky fuel tanks, I am sure that Buccaneer Preservations will do there utmost to get her running, but its going to take time.

First chance I have had to say welcome to the board Mr Webber.

Are the Police now charging for the escort to bring 544 to Brunty? We were notified last year that this would take effect as of January 1st 2004, this was one of the reasons for moving 894 in double quick time.

Best of luck with the move and we hope to be in attendance to see the newest addition to the Cold War Jet Collection arrive on site. 😎

Please see attached of XW554 taken by Mr Webber’s father, Dave in March 2001.

How long have they been taxiing from the south side of the aerodrome? I have been to around 6 or 7 open days and they have always taxied from the road end, why the chance??

Great to see her on full song with the nose in the air again, well done guys, your doing yourselves and the aircraft proud.

I like the way that this thread has gone from a crack at the Red Bull commentator to what is and what isn’t a warbird.

Hell, the Buccaneer, Jaguar, Tornado, Sea Harrier, Vulcan & Victor are also Warbirds!!!! Having seen service in the Gulf and the Falklands!! Both of which were wars!!!!!!!!

any chance of getting back to the original thread??????????? 😡

Nige i like the new sunhat, you know the one you put on first thing Sunday to stop people seeing your ‘combat hair’ (the white workmans hardhat!) – did make us laugh when you put that on!! 😀

I think the Hard Hat had two purposes, 1 was the state of the wig and the second was to stop my head exploding 😀

It’s good to see some of the feedback on the KAD web site, looks like we are working in the right direction, very little in the way of complaints, lets continue this trend at Kemble to allow everyone to really enjoy any events that are held there.

Glen, your concerns about traffic never materialized, teamwork, very impressive 😎

Bucc Society – Yep the Ogri P**s up was good eh? Talking to one of the Bar staff on showday they said they ran out of beer! 😀

Yeah that’s right, all Lager & Bitter was consumed by the early hours leaving only CIDER, which in turn was gone by the time ORGI closed up. Good job Glen didn’t stay to offer everyone a beer!!! 😮 , profit, what profit 😀

I enjoyed spotting those with hang overs in the morning, myself included (once I had looked in the mirror), who’s up for next year??? 😀

Well, how was it for you all? My highlights and I hate to say this being a Classic Jet freak, was firstly the CHINOOK display, the static Chinook’s arrival behind the VC-10 (man, that it is one serious down draft!!!) and the ever impressive Sea Vixen.
    Great show all in all.
I raise my glass to yet another successful Kemble Air Day, well done Glen, Merv and the rest of the team who made it all possible.

That’s enough from me, anyone up for another party at OGRI???? 😀

    Hi Buccsociety

Are you going to be running the bucc up on the 11th July I know it’s a LPG event but there is usually some other aircraft running.

    Scott C

As Andrew has mentioned, 894 is currently u/s and will be for sometime to come so will not feature on the 11th and probably not on the 5th September either, look forwards to next year. 🙁
Its not normal practice for the LPG to allow other movements from the resident Jets but this year maybe an exception to that rule, we’ll have to wait and see. 🙂

    I ‘m gonna need it…………………..

Nah, we’ll be alright, you have a great team behind you, just look at what we managed in one day on Saturday, compared to last year which took 3 days!!!!!!! Now that’s progressing and team work!! 😎
