Do these people behind the aircraft run into the water or are they blown there? Isn’t it a bit hot?
In Antwerp, you can stand right behind any aircraft, but if you do so you the police might come. I did it once and it just rained. I was soaked and wanted to go home, but that takes 45 minutes on two busses, in rush hour in a full bus…

Do you know the cost of an A380? I think its $550 million. I think It’s all organised very well. Of course the first 10-20 aircraft will be lossmaking, but that’s normal. Construction goes faster when experience is gained.

They have killed a lot of pilots due to unconventional handling (no ailerons). I believe that if you bought one new you got a conversion course thrown in over in Japan in an attempt to improve the safety record. Supposed to be lovely to fly…if you survived the experience!

Then how does it roll? The rudder looks big enough to compensate!

Both flights were full. Although EWR-EDI will have had a lot of press, representatives for CO etc on it.

    Who probably didn’t pay.

I had a talk again with my nice math teacher. She told me I may be able to get a licentiate as Civil engineer. I could do it in three years, but studies can be easier so I’ll do it in six years. Then I’m 24, my parents won’t be able to afford so much study. Very foggy future now, I hope I can make something of it…

Airbus aircraft “wipe away” the sound outwards some way. The 777 for example is noisier in the cabin, but is quieter from the outside for example on take off. I had a chart about it in Piloot & Vliegtuig but threw it away yet.
    A330/340 area really very quiet.

What’s the problem, can’t the other aircraft dive under or hop over the slow aircraft 1000 feet above or below?
The FMC in Boeing has a view that says the most economical cruise altitude. Sometimes 747-400’s also cruise at .865, not very sure about that.
For example, a fully loaded 747-400 won’t get any higher than FL 330 with a normal thrust setting. The aircraft would finally start descanding at FL390 for example.
Is it true that long range aircraft climb higher every two hour or so when traffic/ATC allows it? Those FMC’s are damn advanced. Very ingenious. I can program the FMC partly, I have PSS 747-400. Not all functions are included tough.

It would be much more expensive as you would have to buy 2 single tickets. As single tickets cost twice as much as returns you would be paying four times as much! 😮

Never understood the reason behind that. Looks like nearly all normal airlines are doing that, SNBA look like one of the only exception. Even then the oneway fare is only in some cases half the return fare.

    Their 727’s are ex-delta.
Sn Brussels airlines stopped it’s flight to Kinshasa because of the current unrests in DR Congo. How about them? The L1011 is very clean however! At least nobody died in their accidents.
