Rocketeer,
many thanks for that information sir and the kind words from both yourself and HP57.At the risk of appearing a little cheeky, would it be possible to ask you for the dimension of hole pitch on the straps please.
Thanking you for your time to reply
Dave

😮 😮 😮
Indeed he has a fantastic talent…here is the promised Sutton Harness photo The widest strap is 2 and 1/8th inch. The other is 1 and 5/16ths wide
One of the best display pilots I’ve ever seen.
I agree….Bearcat Mildenhall, early 80s….one word…WOW
Oh really? Hmmm … maybe you´re right. It seems I have been deceived by my picture (No.2).
Nice model….the tail wheel on the Mk 2 is a little bigger and wider and it has a link leg as opposed to the simple fork/damper system on the Mk1.
Good work Peter, AFAIK the undercarriage indicator of the Halifax and the Hunter are similar apart from the T (tail) or N (nose).
Cheers
Cees
Are you sure? Hunter is tiny about 35mm diameter

Charley where abouts are you as I have a reasonable library of all things Hurricane. The Hurricane Manual is one bible I use alot as it details all the mods applied to UK aircraft…..pm me if you wish
Looks a bit like the Hurricane wreckage in the Battle of Britain Hall at Hendon
Yep….Hurricane, Hendon (BoB hall), pilot was Maffett (whose was sadly killed when his chute failed), recovered by Geoff Rayner, so presume he is in a phot
Hello,

Image 1 : AX7 + AX10
Image 2 : AX35 + AX37 + AX51
Image 3 : AX35 + AX48 + AX49 + AX50 + AX51
Image 4 : AX24 (ex 350 Squadron)
Image 5 : AX43 (detail 350 Squadron badge)I hope you will enjoy them.
Best regards,
Laurent
Thanx for posting these.682al & I have control columns from these (yep, finally i’d them Alan!!). I dunno how these columns made it to a UK yard but they did.
Tony,
I’m gonna pop in this Sunday on my return from Brooklands
Any news Dave?
I find it interesting that here we are bemoaning the waste of airframes here whilst others are slagging off an honest individual who tried to save a Vulcan elsewhere! Weird irony there!
Mark12’s comments about likening the Vulcan to attitudes about the Radlett Halifax are very true. I saw a copy of cockpit which said the Halifax was ‘too far gone’ etc etc. Where there is a will there is a way.
Back to this laudible thread, Dave did you manage to get any modern shots of Frome?
Regards to those with passion about saving old aircraft, even the lost causes. A clever guy (cleverer than me) said that saving an aircraft is the act of preservation because you buy the airframe some time. The Vulcan chap has done exactly that.
As we progress on the restoration of our MkIX Spitfire we continue to come across parts that we need. I am now trying to locate the levers that mounted on the right side of Frame 9 near the cockpit floor. One was a Bowden lever and the other a large D Handled device. Both were used for the External fuel tank disconnect and release. Please if anybody has knowledge of where we can get one please contact me.

Somewhere, I have the lever…it may take sometime to find. I could make some detailed drawings and phots
I would like to attend. I will bring my Hornet cockpit in whatever state of build it reaches by June.
Well done that man!
