Ok, what about the Envoy in RAF service (minus the turret)
Two were sold to the RAF for use in India, Five were bought for communications duties with one surviving the war. The Kings flight Envoy EXX joined 24 Sqn and also survived the war.

I believe that the Harbour Masters launch at Kings Lynn on the Wash is called Torbeau.
John
It is. The floor is yours.

The same but different?

The motor it appears to be off is the Alfa Romeo 115 perhaps fitted originally to a Caproni C309 Ghibli two motor colonial aeroplane of the late 1930s. Possibly borrowed in Libya?
John
It’s a Phillips Aeroneer.

The convertable/military Envoy with a turret only saw service with the South African Air Force.

The Swift wings are unique to type. The straight wing Attacker was the progenitor of the Swift via the swept 510, 528 and 535 but technically totally different.

I suppose it flew by Yorkshire Rules B107. We are in danger of hiccups on this thread as the Cessna loadmaster was also repeated.

Perhaps some of the very knowledgeable persons that frequent this forum could provide the answer to a question regarding the Hereford that has had me puzzled for sometime.
Although the type was not used by operational squadrons, just OTUs. Did it participate in the first of the 1000 bomber raids? I ask this as I have read that OTUs were used to provide extra aircraft and crews in order to provide enough aircraft to reach the magic number and have often wondered whether this included Hereford units.
Martin
Chorley shows no operational losses for Herefords of either 14 or 16 OTU’s.

And is exactly the picture I posted some time ago. So castanets to you!
John:)
Most airscrews by the 30’s were painted in a fine cellulose finish (over fabric). probably grey or cream.

AM Sir Freddy (whom I have met several times) has long been associated with Cross and Cockade and it was his father who was the Zeppelin victor. Yes they are all of the same family, quite a number of aviators.
