I do hope those who think they are such a service to the regions and “knock” what they see as inferior competition aren’t hoping to go anywhere soon with BA from MAN/BHX/GLA etc etc!!
Barry
I know your having a rant here, and I can see why people flying from BHX wouldnt be flying anywhere with BA soon because British Airways don’t even fly from Birmingham, however the flights from MAN and Glasgow baffles me.
I mean British Airways flies to London (LGW, LHR and LCY) 19 times per day from Glasgow and to London (LGW and LHR) 16 times per day from Manchester.
Presumably a ‘People Pod’ not an I-Pod? Anyone got a picture?
Indeed it is a ‘People Pod’ not an I-Pod.
I found this article on the internet all about it:

Sorry for resurecting this thread that I started last year.
But the time for Terminal 5 to open has arrived.
British Airways have selected their first Woman pilot to be the captain of the first flight to arrive at Terminal 5.

My question is, are there any members on here that will be passing through Heathrow Terminal 5 on the first day of operation?
Yes I watched Big, Bigger, Biggest tonight. I thought it was a really good insight into Terminal 5. I didn’t realise how complex (and expensive) baggage systems are, I mean £250 million for the baggage system 😮
One thing I did like the look of was them little ‘Pod’ things that take you from the Business car park to the terminal.
Thankyou both so much for your answers, this has helped me alot 🙂
Tenthije, I will could up with an answer for you as to why a “new fleet is a opportunity when it could just as well be reasoned as a threat.”
Thanks again
Tom
I’m afraid no-one who is trained to use a firearm on another human being shoots to wound, Adam.
They shoot to kill.
I share a different opinion to you there, to a certain degree. Yes when the officer is carrying a firearm “They shoot to kill” but in the respect where the officer is carrying a tasergun, they are only designed to incapacitate a person temporarily to stop them escaping from the Police or causing injury to themselves or anyone else.
I couldn’t believe it when it happened, wondered what the hell was going on! 😮
I was doing some work for uni, when all of a sudden the door flung open and the computer screen was shaking, so I jumped up and the floor felt like it was moving!
To be honest, I freaked out, thought I was going mad or summat, cos you don’t imagine an earth tremor would happen here in the UK.

Apparently Aer Lingus and Aer Arran are both planning to capitalise on this by launching their own initiatives to boast their sales.

I think Loganair have recently purchased a couple of Saab 340’s, quite possibly something to do with that…?
Yes, Loganair have acquired two more Saab 340s, both have been in storage having previously operated for Aerolitoral. Saying this though, it isn’t for expansion its more for replaced as 2 of their current Saabs are due for disposal.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen photos of IB and AF A320-series aircraft that side of the pond (though AF may be more likely doing Caribbean “local” services rather than venturing to the States)
Iberia used to have a mini-hub at Miami International operating flights to South America. I believe they had 4 x A319 aircraft based there until they closed the Miami base in 2004.
I would think that LBA-ABZ would probably work much better with 2 flights a day, morning and afternoon. The EXT-LBA-ABZ flights struggled on the ABZ leg somewhat, but probably alot due to the timings of the once daily flights.
I hope that they do consider keeping / relaunching Leeds to Aberdeen flights, as since it launched 16 months ago, I have used this route 7 times. I would much prefer to pay £59.98 return with FlyBE 🙂 than £205 return with Eastern Airways 😮 .
Great report. Reminds me of my flights on Jet2 this summer. I flew G-LSAI from LBA to Faro. 🙂
Great photos of an airport that we don’t see many pictures from on here. Really like the Icelandair B757. Makes the aircraft seem really clean when set against a winter background. 🙂
Great photos, best of the bunch is got to be the EasyJet and First Choice ones 🙂
