Derek, im stating willingly (i dont care if i cause you offence) people like this kid (who will be doing it to impress their friends) should receive a smack or two around the head, they have no respect these days for memorials etc, so why shouldnt they ? if you question them about it then all you’ll receive is a volley of profanities
people these days are far too fickle, if they want to do sh!t like this to get themselves some attention…so be it, but they cant cry about it when the attention they receive is negative and violent, (sadly thats the world we live in, deal with it!)

i had the privilege of meeting Lt Col Carter in Newcastle back in 2004 as a young air cadet, involved in the heartstone festival of flight, such a wonderful man, his stories and passion were amazing, i have his autograph in my 3822, i confess i forgot his full name and only remembered him as herbert, however after researching i remembered it, his wife accompanied him and she had some interesting stories herself,
Rest In Peace Sir, your battle is finally over, Blue skies
Bruggen, for all the wrong reasons, that is a wonderful photograph, it really brings it home for me as shown on that photo, is a lad i went to college with in 2005-2006, left hand side, middle of the picture, Marine Tony Evans, J Company, 42 Commando Royal Marines, Thursday 27th November 2008. he was my age(20 at the time of his death)
RIP Tony, and to everyone else in past conflicts who passed, never forgotten

Andy, 15yrs old, I know it’s true, but did he have to give up the life he had not even started, for the sake of King and Country?. He should have been refused to enter the armed forces at that age’
Jim.
Lincoln .7
i believe Jim, a lot of lads in those days, lied about their age to go forward and fight for king and country, as there wasnt any of this ID/CRB checks and what not back then, ( or if so, not as vigorous) however im guessing the likes of Andy Saunders or Kev etc could shed more light, think they may be a bit more clued up on the subject
Regards

gents, can we drop the debate, this thread im guessing was created as more of an obit as usual with most that appear on here, not for an argument about whos right and whos wrong
the world lost an excellent actor who was loved by millions, worse yet was the fact a family lost their husband/dad/grandad and all you can do is argue over who was right over, from what i can see, missreadings…?
