But how can we support them when they continue to sell out. I admit that I have never been to Stow Maries, as a static event / museum it does not interest me. But as a flying venue I would happily travel. Is it correct the site is restricted by local authority rules regarding events and how many people can attend ? If there are restrictions how can the Stow Maries site ever improve, especially if people are being turned away ?
Let us hope that all those from the Northern Aeroplane Workshops, who are still with us, can attend when their Camel has its public debut.
Would be great to see a proper Triplane, Pup, Camel, Snipe formation but expect a lack of experienced pilots will prevent that.
Admin fees are a joke. A shop selling using any of the major credit or debit cards has to pay a fee, those shops do not (usually) charge you extra for using those cards.
So why should the ticketing industry ? It was outlawed at one time with the airline industry making huge profits on such charges but the travel industry still gets away with it. Its just another hidden tax.
Agree with a previous posts comment that cash handling is a major problem, because if you offer tickets on the gate you obviously have to handle cash which means trusted and trained staff. So long as tickets are available up to the Friday before the show, and there are no hidden fees, then I see do not problem. The only issue would be the small, all be it important, percentage of the population which do not access the internet.
Surprised this news has not been reported elsewhere. P3717 now resident at Old Warden.
Waiting for news of its first airshow appearance. Question is do we have enough qualified Hurricane display pilots ?

With the withdrawal from service there will be farewell flights from the Channel Islands. Would it not be a a fantastic idea to offer a few ‘final’ flights from Duxford.
I wonder how much this pointless exercise has cost both Yanks and PoF ?
The only winner being the Lawyers. 😡
Any news on P9374’s new owner and actual location in USA ?
Yes there was a published annual index. I had them from the first edition, sadly they will be in the loft / storage.
I ten second google found this which might prove helpful ?
What need doing to your Vulcan. It looks pretty good in the photo ?
Given NX611 history I would hope that for one season the temporary shceme choose would be French Aeronaval
Any photos available of P3717 first flight ? Hope all went well, what next for the aircraft’s flight test schedule. How many hours does a new restoration like this have to have before it is likely to be cleared for public display ?
The glider club is commonly called Crowland Airfield and is mainly for air tow glider operations. Flights not connect with glider ops are unusual.
The bigger ‘local’ airfield is Fenland Airfield, also known as Holbeach St Johns.
As a Peterborough local I wish the organiser good luck.
Any more inform or web link to this ?
Assumed the airfield could be Fenland, but nothing on there website
Have Wildcat taken over ships flight duties, did not think they were ready for sea borne opperations ?
Very interesting and really hope the helicopter goes to an appropriate home.
My initial interest was sparked by the fact that XV661 actually sailed for the Falklands on HMS Illustrious on 2nd August 1982, so missed the action.
The link tells an interesting story about a rescue undertaken on the MV Lovat but the Lovat story is a confusing because http://www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=103085 reports XV661 inherited parts from ZA167. Link https://twitter.com/royalnavy/status/559470748306534400 shows photo of ZA167 with “MV Lovat” markings. So which airframe was so honoured, sadly the rescue of the 25/01/75 was not a total success.
As always Caveat Emptor
