On my link its still says that … “Former Labour minister Denis MacShane is facing suspension from the Commons for 12 months” – so what’s taking so long for him to get the push???

As we have now moved into November I would like to remind people that NAM is now into its winter opening times; these are 10am until 4pm each day (including weekends) and the last admission is at 3pm.

There are a few more details in here – plus a list of all the airframes that are tucked up out of the weather inside the various display buildings! 🙂

It’s been quite a busy week with split half-term holidays in the surrounding districts. NAM now has a busy month ahead with a record number of school visits (for November) booked in from education establishments in Notts, Lincs and S.Yorks! 🙂

I don’t really like being disrespectful to the ‘spooks’ but in the best traditions of forces humour I reckon it could be:

“Have sold the Spitfires to the local ‘scrappy’ and buried the crates up country!!” :diablo:

Earlier today the museum was advised about the impending release of Tim O’Brien’s book about RAF Syerston – details about the book entitled, ‘RAF Syerston: Praesta in Officiis’ have been added here on the NAM website.

It is scheduled for publication on 12th December 2012!

Sorry for a slightly delayed response no ‘celebs’ to represent this week – just a story about a new feed supplement packing installation in Northern Ireland! 😀

Last night the booking forms were emailed out for the Spring Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble at NAM; there were a couple of bounced emails so if you didn’t get a form and would like to receive details then please drop me a PM with an up to date email address.

I understand that NAM has received a booking from ‘Cockpit Covers-R-Us’, which is great news 😀 – although I’m still awaiting feedback as to whether or not NAM itself has any requirements in that department!!

Lincoln 7 – it’s been known about for years; last month there was some discussion on another fourum on the topic in this thread! 😉

Over 12 months ago the British Antarctic Survey based in Cambridge were making calls regarding loaning out the Otter – IIRC at the time they were seeking under cover display space!

I’m glad that you enjoyed participating in several of the museum’s events this year – more to follow in 2013! 🙂

The ‘short-cut’ wasn’t a problem and we’d even put some new wheels on the trolleys and inflated them!! 😀

………….. And a moment of impulsiveness at Newark on Saturday a Trident 2 flight engineers upper panel.

Apart from the comedy of getting it behind the seats in a very small convertible to get it home it’s in good shape. I’ve only given it a good clean and fired up the backlighting so far but I’ll see what else can be brought back to life!!

Were you the gentleman I opened the site gate for on Saturday to move the panel to your car? 😉

If so, nice project and long may your impulsiveness continue – see you next June at Cockpit-Fest! 🙂

It is nice to hear Air Ministry’s comments and as I have posted before it part of NAM’s rationale to try and keep its Aeroboot / Aerojumble participation and admission costs at a reasonable level. This is in the hope that ‘New Sellers’ are encouraged to participate (there were 6 new sellers booked in on Saturday). It is believed that this approach will help to introduce new items into the aviation market. 🙂

Even though admission prices are kept modest, the urge for people to get the early bargain resulted in a couple of ‘buyers’ playing me for a bit of a fool on Saturday by both claiming to be “helping on one of the stalls” and thereby gaining early admission and apparently trying to evade paying an admission fee! 🙁

This will not happen again – as a new system of ‘Stallholder’ and ‘Helper’ passes will be introduced for the next event on 2nd March 2013 and the new system will be rigidly enforced! Sadly as so often seems to be the case a few spoil it for the majority!

Also apologies to the couple who travelled down from East Yorks on Saturday afternoon only to find that all the sellers had departed!! 😮

On a more positive note we already have 8 bookings that have been made for the next event on 2nd March 2013! 🙂

Finally for now, just a brief note to say that the timings for the museum’s Remembrance Day Service have been added in the usual place!

    Nice one Jim! 😀

For my part, amongst many other things I help organise these type of events and provide teas and coffees to cold stallholders!! 😉

:diablo: From comments posted by Lincoln 7 I suspect this may be his real identity / interest! 😀

You missed you free tea / coffee again on Saturday Lincoln!! 😉
