However a few questions come to mind:

Would Newark be interested?

Would it fit in with Newark’s Collecting Policy?

Would Newark be able and willing to meet any Loan conditions that might be required?

I believe that we have been somewhere similar before with this type of speculation and I suspect the answers would be no to most of the above questions.

Oh for the time it was featured in NAM’s Guide Book for 3 years – shame the aircraft never made it there as planned in the late 1990s! 😮

But still interesting to the likes of me.
For heavens sake there are people on this forum who get all soppy and wet over a data plate, so a part built prototype would be an adults only experience.:p

It’s not just the full-sized stuff that makes people get ‘overcome with emotion’ – last September NAM’s radar profiling model of the P.1216 caused ‘a bit of a stir’ about these parts and elsewhere!

Sadly, despite several attempts with both on-board and off-board search functions I cannot find the main thread that I was thinking of – definitely losing it in that department! 😮

For the record it is still displayed at NAM in a ‘fictional’ 4 Squadron RAF camouflage colour scheme; complete with an ‘original-finish, optional nose.’ 😉

Another update has been added in here for Cockpit-Fest 2012 – a few minor alts to report and perhaps worthwhile noting that currently five fresh cockpits will be exhibiting at the 2012 event.

Surprised it’s taken the BBC so long. They could’ve had a scoop last Sunday. I spoke with a BBC film crew at Bruntingthorpe. They were filming for a 2 part documentary that will be aired on BBC4 in either September or October this year. It’s entitled ‘the Golden Age of Aviation’. The crew assistant told me that it wasn’t ‘within their sphere of interest’. Maybe he didn’t realise that the Documentary they were making was about Aviation and Peoples connection thereto? Clearly he won’t be joining BBC news unless his nose for a story develops. I’ll post some pics of the crew filming with the LPG later on a new thread.

WADR the ‘Golden Age of Aviation’ BBC4 item relates to post-war British aviation and the film crew is very focused on its brief! 😉

Plus news crews and the documentary units have very little shared output!
