The ‘chronological format’ works for me, but I cannot (and would not) speak for WOS and the trustees!
The only potential issues that I see are:
– fitting in those cockpits that book very late or don’t book at all
– heavy items might have to go in certain locations;
– plus I know that people have become accustomed to being in certain areas.
That said I’m prepared to do some advocacy work at NAM to try and get some ‘adaptability’ into the thinking on layouts. 🙂
Slightly off topic – is the Cockpit-Fest Forum down for other people or is it just me?
They’re lucky to have secured Building Regs approval – I know some locations that haven’t!

………..I did a great deal of research many years ago on J G Magee and have a considerable quantity of material here. Not sure if you saw it, but I also did a large piece on him and his demise in After The Battle some years ago. Happy to scan and send if it will help?…
Thanks for the feedback Andy, which I will make the AHL team aware of – I don’t personally recall seeing the piece that you mention but they may be aware of it. I know that they have made many contacts whilst preparing for the events in December, which I understand are starting to attract a lot of national and international interest.
I looks set to be a good weekend in Lincolnshire!

Calling V-Force personnel
In the run up to the V-Force reunion event in April 2012 the museum is trying to help Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) locate former V-Force personnel that might be willing to participate in AHL’s oral history recording programme called “Shouting The Odds”.
If you are able to help or you know anyone who might be able to help, we would ask you to check out here for details about what they are looking for and how you can participate.

The significance of 3rd March 2012 has been duly noted! 😀
Revised booking forms have now been emailed out and in some cases posted off – if you don’t receive a copy and would like one please send me a PM with appropriate contact information (email address or a postal address) and I will resolve the matter!
Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding!!

Evening everyone and thanks for the kind comments.
Late on during yesterday’s event it became apparent that by keeping with the planned Indoor Aeroboot in April 2012 that we were potentially working ourselves into a bit a ‘logistical cul-de-sac’ being so close to the V-Force event!
Today I have given the matter further though, various emails have been exchanged and after a brief consultation at the museum it has been decided that we will not now be hosting an Indoor Aeroboot on the day after the V-Force event. So please ignore the information that was given out on the booking forms yesterday.
The museum will however now host an Indoor Aeroboot Sale on Saturday 3rd March 2012 on the normal basis i.e. limited to 48 tables. During the next few days I will generate some fresh booking forms and send these out to everyone – we will also be making contact with those people that made their bookings yesterday to offer space on the revised date or a refund!
Hopefully this is sufficiently distant as to not to be deemed as clashing with any other events and please accept our apologies for any confusion that this change has caused! 😮

Sorry for the furrowed brow Anon, it’s been a long / busy week and there have also been a few security issues elsewhere on the Showground that have been causing us some concern.
When I drove in this morning at 6.50am there seemed to have been another break-in at a ‘near neighbour’, which was slightly perplexing – on later investigation it became apparent that this was from earlier in the week! Sadly a worrying time, especially when we have some major infrastructure work due to start early next week!! 🙁
Visitor numbers for the day were about 20 down on the equivalent event last autumn, coupled with a couple of no shows on the selling side – so things could have been better!
I’m not sure how the revised date of Sunday 29th April 2012 (now rescheduled for 3rd March 2012) for the next event is going to work out but we’ll keep plugging away.
