“The Way To The Stars ” was filmed at RAF Catterick(the B-17G shots were filmed at the 384BG Grafton Underwood). It was written by Terence Rattigan. The shots of the overflying Blenheim formation is Bedale High Street where the ficticious Hotel was located.
The “War Lover ” was filmed at Bovingdon and John Crewdson was the piolt on the famous beat up.
“12 O’Clock High” was shot in the USA, and the opening shots were not Chelveston as some people report.
Nice film of a Jet Provost taking off and the 2 DC-4s sat outside its hangar proved it was North Weald.

The Mossie B.35 ex TJ144 of Spartan air Services CF-IMA was scrapped at Hurn in 1957/8,so i would think this is the relic in question,probably long gone.
WT830 I don’t believe it went to a Squadron . It went to Halton on 14.11.57 as a ground instruction airframe.
My father was at the show when it happened and he vividly remembered the two engines flying through the air sadly into the audience. I believe John Derry and his observer are buried in Knebworth churchyard. I would like any aircraft stories at westcott or Thurleigh,and thank you for responding.
At a guess both owned by F.G Miles Ltd at Shoreham. G-AKFX was converted by them to a Mk 8 with 155h.p Cirrus Major 3 engines and enlarged fins.
If you look at the picture notice the childrens swing!! Also another McAully Flying Group Hawk Trainer was scrapped at Lt Snoring G-AJHD circa 1960.
It would be worth getting in touch with the Cushing family who operate the airfield today.
I have vague recollections that this airframe was donated to the local school at Little Snoring (Les Hunts bible “Veteran and Vintage Aircraft” springs to mind,but i do not have a copy). I cannot help on the Gemini dump location.
