Probably not, however on a fairly recent EZY flight to Barcelona we had to wait parked up for an hour due to traffic at Faro and the captain allowed passengers to go to the flight deck, describing it as “a rare opportunity”

Anybody got any shots of a Tupolev 154?? I flew on one (Balkan) to Bulgaria when I was 7.

Amazon is great, you can often get them cheaper from other sellers

As I said above, the ‘Hercules’ is higher and wider than the An225 but is not as long.

Rick, thanks for the detailed post, most appreciated!

It doesn’t look too bad actually. Perhaps the reviews i’ve read are just from bad experiences so the writers make them out to be the worst thing ever. Can’t complain for £5pp I suppose; some people said there were no screens at all!!

As for the upgrade…well i’m not that tall, not too fussed about 2 extra inches on a screen and I certainly won’t be drinking even £50 worth of drink! Cattle class all the way lol.

True. I just get used to the free stuff I suppose :p

Thought as much for the 777, didn’t seem cramped..then again not been on an MD11 so don’t know what it’s dimensions are like!

747s can operate from NCL but with Restrictions, our runway is only 2,500 meters long so they have to take less weight for take off.

The TOM 763 to Cancun on mondays has to go down to MAN after NCL for fuel, because if it was fully fueled for the trip at NCL it would not take off in time.

Runway is getting extended over the winter which means the airport will be closed after 23.00 hopefully this will allow EK to get 777 in.

Interesting! Do you know if the same plane destined for Dominican Republic does the same?

Northern_Git – That video makes them look decent…but I’ve read that you only get a TV in your seat in the Premium Economy? And no free food/drink I think is a joke for a long haul flight!

Finnair MD11s..hmm, well hopefully will pretty much all gone by then but if I have to fly on one, so be it…for £399 I can’t complain too much! Just don’t like the look of them…nor is McDonnell Douglas’ reputation particularly comforting :s

As for 10 abreast, does my memory decieve me or are the EK 777-300ER’s 3-4-3?

well, really didn’t know that! I wonder where I got that info then, I always thought we didn’t have a long enough runway for some reason.

What sites do you use not only for schedules, but the actual planes coming in? Wouldn’t mind going down for a look at a 747 coming in!

Interesting…I always thought NCL could not handle a 747? Never seen on there!!
