Very nice, I really must get up to Luton at some stage again this summer!
corky: G-CDKA Eastern Airways Saab 2000 cn: 006 ex SE-006, HB-IZC, and OH-SRC
Rather amusing and quite clever though for Ryanair in most areas 😉
Great stuff, superb to see some shots from Basel again! As ever particularly loving the Globex! I believe its Cairo based just for interests sake!
Farnborough meet is a very good point Peter! AndrewM and I will be there every day this year, so that is definitly on.
I suggest a meeting point at the pavilion of those fine people at Group Flight!
Heres my best effort from LHR today, just the one I’m afraid:

Yup I will be there, crammed into Myrtle Avenue with hundreds of other people no doubt!
Its not RAF its Army and yes it is closing.
What on earth?
Dan, can you stick the 30th July in Belfast on your list please mate? We havent been able to fully confirm all the details yet, but we’ll try and get some out for it tonight?
One wonders how serious this venture is when the date of the press release is 11 May 2005!
Yes, what a very unprofessional thing to do, eh AndrewM ?
I’m just trying to recall whether Rockhopper actualy submitted a formal application to the CAA or not, I believe they did and it got rejected. I dont have time to work my way through the CAA application documents at the moment, but I will try and find out what the actual reason they gave was this evening.
It might just be that they were warned off before actualy getting to the formal stage, but I’m sure I recall seeing details of the specific registrations they were trying to lease in and everything as I almost booked myself a little trip to get on one last summer.
I thought they were certified by the CAA, turobolets are used for parachute jumping?
Certainly very different, I’m assuming they’ve found airframes on the cheap.
There is quite a difference between using them for para jumping and using them on scheduled services. I cant remember the differences between the types of licences exactly, but it takes a fair bit of paperwork to get them to full passenger carrying standards.
Loganair have just started EDI-IOM again…
They will have a hard time getting the LET410 certified by the CAA. They threw a wobbly when Rockhopper tried to use them last year.
Your point was that the Queens Flight, which I interpreted as No. 32 (The Royal) Squadron, used Heathrow, which most of the time they don’t, as they are based in Northolt, and operate out of there.
Obviously when a commercial airliner is chartered it usually operates out of Heathrow. Obviously other airports are used around London, but predominantly the RAF flights use Northolt and any subcharted commercial airliners use Heathrow.
