I went up to see her on the barge this afternoon (I didn’t watch the towing/loading last night because I feel asleep-doh! :rolleyes: ). I’ve got some piccies I can post up later if anyone’s interested.She did look a touch sad with her wings and tail off,although they did put the nosecone back on which restored some of her dignity.She certainly drew quite a crowd on both sides of the river even in the state she was in.

I’ve bought every copy of Flypast for about the last 18 months and I don’t recall anything by ‘Dopey’ being in them.That’s not to say there wasn’t something,but nothing springs to mind.
I’ve really enjoyed his articles in Aeroplane over the last few months,it’s a shame they’ve come to an end.

I would’ve hoped so aswell,but it seems not.My above-mentioned mate who works in the engineering department at BA used the word ‘butchered’ and was glad that he wasn’t having to carry out the work. 🙁 The wing has a ‘natural’ joint outboard of the engines,but they’ve been cut off inboard on ‘AA.

I’d like to know the same thing aswell.I have a mate who is a senior engineer at BA and even he is not letting on.The problem is that the move was not meant to be made public,so they’re keeping things very much to themselves.I’m under the impression that everything will take place in the early hours of Sunday morning.High tide is at around 4 or 5am,so I’d imagine it will be done then.I went to have a look at the Tierra Marique today,and preparations were already underway.
I’ll be there all night to try and make sure I see it all happen,but I don’t know what public access is going to be like.We’ll have to wait and see…
