What is amazing for me is that a little country town like Carpentras made the front pages all the way here in North America. My grandmother lives just outside Carpentras in a small village called Venasque and I had to wonder if she was alright as she to attend a few doctor appointments there!
It seems that this is slowly coming to an end as less and less people are taking to the streets every night! I hope this unrest will soon end to allow France to heel from its wounds! Many here in North America believe France’s image was hurt within the worldwide community! I tend to agree a little!

Just wish these will not happen there

Do you think the recent measures taken by the government in the past forty-eight hours will be enough to finally bring this to an end?
As well, it seems this problem is now slowly spreading to the rest of the continent with apparent rioting in Belgium and Germany. How long do you think it will take for these governments to take care of the problem? Will they be efficient or as inept as the current French government has proven to be?

The Netherlands, UK and Belgium are also afraid of a general uprise from their immigrants

    From my #13 post.

Yesterday only (!) 600 cars were burned. This night maybe less…
But I wonder if the insurance companies (AXA etc.) can hold the huge car-insurance (and probably house and property) compensations claimed by the owners.

Agree in China. Haven’t been all over, but based on what I see in Hong Kong and Beijing. Too many rude people, very dirty air, very unsanitary restaurants (except for the ones obviously catering to westerners), unsanitary toilets, horrible traffic, horrible drivers.. no road rules (but they say India is worse). Very undesirable women.

Now Japan is a nice clean country. Almost every bathroom I went into, was pretty damn clean. women are easy and a decent amount beautiful, and great air.. as long as it isnt Tokyo.

Singapore is VERY CLEAN!! But too small and too crowdy (almost the size of Corfu island and with 3,000,000 inhabitants!!)

I lived in Canada for 15 years and although it is clean and rich and polite, it is really depressing. Terrible weather, boring people, very political correct. Of course Turkmenistan is much worse and I’m not talking about war torn countries or famine struck countries. But for a decent westerner, Canada is pretty boring. I rather live in Eastern Europe, or in Portugal, Greece (where I am now) or Spain
BElarus is gray but wow, so many beautyfull girls. It is ideal if you are not married.

Do you live in Athens? Don’t tell me you like this city! I live here since the day I was born and I would do anything to leave and go to the countryside (Larissa and Pylion are my best places!)
Vancouver is a place to stay. Another is Venezia.
    In Spain? For sure Barcelona!!

    So where were we…..
If the 2 young blacks 15 and 17 years old were electrocuted the 3rd badly burnt, who wernt chased by police but sought by police!! For vandalising a building site in the afternoon of the 27 oct, 6 others were caught on site in the afternoon and the others were found in the evening dead sparking a supposed racial attack by the police….
Who is in the wrong? the copper for doing his job stopping a group of young vandals or the ethnic community leaders and the immigrants….
I was in London in July on the day of the bombs, and what would of happened if the bombers were stopped before in their respective communities before the attacks? the British police would have probably sparked a similar crisis and who would have been wrong? the bomber or the police?

zouzy86, I heard now that Nicola Sarcozi and de Villepin have crisis management talks. And that police cannot handle the situation. Time for Army action?
