RE: Airline food
Hmmm i remember a flight on lufthansa last year from cairo to munich on this dreadful a319 and we were served something that resembled dog food which i could not stomach. And a small amount of cold ravioli with it.I have never vomitted in a plane but i did on that flight. We transferd to a flight to athens where the food was a hole lot better on this LH flight.Emirates serves some great meals but i am biased working for them.
RE: My Parent’s Nightmare at Philadelphia
I am an austrlian who lives in dubai and is a pilot for emirates air.
on a recent trip to the usa no airport named but none the less because i had come from dubai i was given the full going over
i cant understand why its just way over the top at usa immigratio now not everyone is a terrorist and i point blank refuse to fly or go back near the usa until some explanation and apology is accorded to me
RE: Favourite & worst looking airliner of all time
the 777 300 is a great bird
hate the a340 its so uncomfortable as singapore airlines said we a getting rid of them because our customers dont like them.
RE: Both
the 777-300 is a delight to fly but a little hard to move around on the ground cos of its sheer size
that is my view as a 777 pilot i have never flown an airbus but ii have flown in plenty of them and dont like them to much
RE: CDG-A huge dissappointment!
cdg 2 is good rest of it is crap
RE: SAS crash at Milan
no ground radar was being used at linate airport
pity it may have saved those lives
RE: SAS crash at Milan
yeah it crashed into the baggage handling building at linate airport
all are dead no survivors
sas has released a statement at there website
http://www.scandinavian.net
RE: Indian Hijack Confusion!
in the end it was all a misunderstanding and there was no hijack at all
RE: What will survive?
in a few months i dont think so you should see the downturn in airline bookings for forward months at emirates we have cut flights as capacity is not warranting these flights
singapore air has trimmed schedules and cut flights aswell as cathay pacific emirates swissair now bust qantas and the american airlines aswell this is gonna take a long time to recover from. The americans are not flying across the pacific in sustainable numbers on cathay united and sia
maybe atleast 2 years before consumer confidence can start to be restored and tthats being optimistic
RE: Concorde
ansett will fly again probably by the weekend i have just heard on australian news from sydney
RE: Savety
we dont allow any visitors to cockpits now at emirates and we are upgrading the flightdeck security but i find thatif a terrorist wants badly enought to cause terror on an aircraft then the flight deck is the least of his worries when you can use the passengers to get what you want.
We are trained to do what the hijackers say as most acts of hijacking end peacefully but obviously this was an exception
RE: Airport charges
i know we at emirates pay about 7000$ for landing fees and then you have the communications fees stand fees runway fees and the list goes on there is a few for every service that is provided to us and some are very expensive to i may addd landing at tokyo is very high in fees
RE: Airlines on the edge
the news is not good as insurance companies will only payout one hundred million dollars for terrorist attacks now so govts are going to have to underwrite airlines and if it doesnt happen its byebye to airtravel and i think oyu will find delta and continental are close to going bust and northwest also
RE: Virgin Bomb scare
emirates has beefed up security ten fold for obvious reasons
RE: passenger plane( that is what they say) hits world trade center.
We at emirates have boosted security 5 fold and i think with the detaining of these new suspects it might not be to long before this may happen again.God help us all if it does
