The official news confirmation. Flight lasted over an hour for the 2nd serial Su-35. No issues encountered.

Airframe life, as of now, is stated as 6000 hours. Engine with TVC- 4000 hours.

Good news. Was wondering what is going on with the Su-35S. I know i’ve read somewhere that two Su-35S were suposed to be delivered to the “customer” in 2011, so they just might make it , if acceptance tests go well and they can hand the Su-35S-2 to the VVS by the end of this month. 🙂

Well well well. Pretty interesting modification on the vertical tail “supports”.

Interesting. I’ve looked at some pics ( a few of the prototypes and KNS from about similar or close angles), it looks like it. Wonder what prompted the mod.

Also wondering , on the lower part of the nose, what is that rectangular “thing”, just under the winscreen/IFR. (right next to the suposedly side radar panel)

Finally , any news about how the test flying is going in LII? Is 51 still grounded? This from nov.11, aparently:

Nice.:D Indian UPG and UB-UPG. What’s with the ( presumably ) airshow number on the UPG , are they going to display it somewhere ? I don’t think any of the indian upgrades were shown at MAKS , or am i wrong ?

Oh i see… i guess the idea of an aerodinamic simulator in the prototype’s intake certainly make sense. Time will tell.:)

Um…you sure that has to do with PAK-FA ? On Paralay that pic seems to be posted in conjuction with the japanese Shinshin, aparently they say it’s the blocker for that aircraft.

Pakistan is a country where the government is desperately trying to …i dunno, “cultivate” ( to be very gentle) some sort of relationship with the americans , whereas the overwhelming majority of the people can’t stand the americans to say the least. Certainly the drone attacks by the americans don’t help at all ( which my the way , ALWAYS kill only those evil ******* terorrist talibans, and never ever killed any civilians …if the pakistanis ever claim so , they lie)

So yeah, the more of these incidents happen, and innocent peoples being killed , that more weak is Pakistan’s government position is …i don’t see them lasting for long if this keeps going …Pakistani spring anyone ?

On the other hand , if those Apache pilots were as “cheerful” and “enthusiastic” as those who gunned down the iraqi folks and reporters as we seen on Wikileaks, no wonder this tragedy happened.

And you know , even if the pakistani soldiers actually started shooting first , there is still no excuse for the yanks, it’s a monumental failure of their intelligence in this case, they ought to know exactly who the hell is there before sending their attack helicopters to hunt down peoples…

Not a trend. Been common since the De Havilland Vampire – flew 1943.
Hawker Sea Hawk – flew 1947
And so on through more types than there’s any point listing, from every country that’s built jet fighters, in every decade since the 1940s.

Plus, even earlier than that Gloster E-28/39 and He-178 also started the trend of “serpentine ducts” and all that. 😀

It’s been done to death before …Hint: it’s a single engine aircraft with side intakes…what “S-ducts”, what “radar blocker”?! Geez come on folks 😮

Don’t know what experience you’re talking about re the F-16 and LM , certainly LM did not built and upgraded it until at least Block-50/52 (of course , you already knew that). Did they designed and built themselves the Block-50+/52+ and Block-60 or were they already designed when LM took over GD ?

I might be wrong here, but what’s the story with this Su-30MKI , aparently it’s suposed to be the first one made entirely at HAL (from ground up), but the number on the tailfin is …weird. Look at the 6 at least. It looks PS .
