I’m not an expert , but regarding the size of this thing , to me it doesn’t look as big as some folks think it is …i would be surprised if J-20 is going to be bigger than a Flanker. I don’t think this plane is a humongous monster twice the size of an F-22.

Speaking of frameless canopies , i see this seems to be the rage at the moment. But i’m wondering , is there absolutely necesary for a modern fighter to have a one piece canopy ( like F-22, F-16 and J-20)? What’s wrong with having a normal single piece windshield and a normal canopy ? Isn’t it even lighter, cheaper and safer than these fancy single piece ones? How much visibility can be impaired by a windshield frame? Typhoon, Rafale , JAS-39, YF-23, J-10, F-18SH and so on are/were perfectly fine with normal canopies …:confused:

As a sidenote , i didnt knew where to put F-35 , it has a one piece canopy , but with a frame in it ( ? ) …Hmm…
