    Ukraine ≠ Russia. So?

That Ukrainian Su-27 picture belongs to Ukrainian Air Force thread.:) You know Ukraine , Russia two different countries etc .Cold War long gone. Or you’re conforming to the known stereotypes regarding american geography knowledge ?:D

Could it be a leftover from that surge last year? ( the different coloured nozzle inside). I’ll see if i can find pics from same angle taken after MAKS.

Btw , regarding Griffon39’s post , on the contrary , Putin is ALL the russian air force needs . In case you haven’t noticed , the rejuvenation of the Russian air force ( and Russian military as a whole), new purchases , new projects , modernisations , ALL happened during Putin’s reign , or when he was a prime minister.

I believe with his secret service background , he understands very well the importance of airpower , hence his special interest for PAK-FA.

I for one was chewing my nails waiting for the vote! There’s no alternative for russian leadership now, if russian is to get back to being a major , powerful world player, it needs Putin.

    PAK-FA needs Putin.:)

Wasn’t there suggested that Su-30SM is sort of an advanced combat trainer for supermaneuverable types like Su-35S and T-50? It will be fully combat capable ( and some capabilities those will be) , but that might be it’s main role in RuAF, at least.

The main landing gear doors on J-20 are in two sections. Small ones (visible on 2002 pic above f.e.) open upwards , but the bigger ones open downward. It’s just 2002 had the bigger ones closed through the take-off/landing (and most of the ground testing, whereas 2001 usually have them open on the ground/taxiing /take-off/landing) .

There’s a video few posts back clearly showing 2002 landing gear doors are pretty much same as 2001.

Btw, congrats to CAC for another milestone .:)

Imho, with all due respect but what this “doctor Dave Sloggett” knows about J-20 , and China. He just repeates the same ol’ ferocious anti-chinese propaganda designed to make China look as bad as possible and scare the common folks as much as possible about the evil China going to invade you, mwahahaha!!!, but don’t worry we’ll save you, all we need is more defence spending , more troops in your country, and you to do what we want and how we want etc etc.

Imho such articles speak more about those who write them and who they represent, rather than China itself, it’s goals, and things like J-20.

    My 2 cents.
