Said to be a Su-30MKA for AAF, in 2009

Another nice picture :

Well, i was a just about to start talking about the news that China and Russia might develop together a light 5th gen fighter, based on FC-1 aparently , with a 9300kgf TVC engine.
I have seen that new article couple of days ago on mr. Andrey Fomin’s site Take-off.ru . I went to check there now again , but that bit of news seems to be gone! April 1 prank ? 😀
Folks, which variant of Tejas is this ?
Looks like a trainer variant , but seems to me the canopy was modified quite a bit( plus it seems to have the new finroot intake like LSP-7)

Some nice footage of the MKA here, courtesy of Dr. Watson from forcesdz 🙂

Hmm i have never seen that on fencer before. I suppose it is flares? Thanks for great pics, some are new to me.
Aparently the story of the fences is Su-24Ms had them initially ( they were rounded in shape) but then they were found too disruptive and removed.
Meenwhile , the export version had them too initially (in the shown form , squareish, with CMDS incorporated in them ), but then later they were removed aswell (i think the CMDS is on either side of tail above the engines in that case)
As much as i wouldn’t want to, i’ll still scream PS on that one, until proven wrong (hopefully), it’s just how many bloody PS images were done by various useless gits in front or around those hangars? Why would they move the star anyway?
But it would be great if that will be proven to be the long awaited 2003.:)
Jordan-Irak line seems more likely . Irak has abolutely no air defence whatsoever at the moment. All it takes is “convincing” the jordanians to turn a blind eye.

Oh man. unit cost might be as high as close to 200 million by the end of this year 🙁
So which prototype is that , it seems to have quite some important airframe changes. Hmm , maybe that’s the F-35 LM can make that will actually cost 65 or 70 million apiece.:p

“К сожалению, несмотря на формальное включение в ГПВ-2020 многофункциональных истребителей МиГ-35, до заключения реального контракта на эти машины дело пока не дошло. “
Not sure how certain the order is at this point.
Thanks for that Trident.:)
What will that be, the stencil with the radar name? 🙂
MiG-35 is constantly mentioned as included in the GPV, but no specifics.
Is it? I was under the impression that it isn’t given the massive orders for just Sukhois for RuAF the last few years, and Zelin not saying anything about it . I know about the 36-48 MiG-35s speculated , but nothing more.
Out of curiousity is this GPV 2020 plan public, avalaible for reading somewhere on the net ?
Thanks.
Just ignore the troll folks. Giving the troll the slightest amount of attention is what he wants. Just hit the report button.
On a serious note …so should it be understood that afterall, MiG-29 and developements are not in GPV 2020 plans for RuAF? Zelin didn’t seems to have mentioned anything about the MiG-29/35. If they however will keep the SMTs , wouldn’t it be uneconomical to have such a small number of airframes if (presumably ) the other MiG-29 will be retired fairly soon?
Without any upgrades, except the SMT, the legacy MiG-29s are completely outclassed today …
Any info surfaced about what timeframe the legacy, unmodernized MiGs (29,31) and SUs (27, 24 etc.) will go?
Thanks FULCRUM29.
Meenwhile, a pic of presumably one of the older Su-24MKs , which arrived before 1991. Note the square fences over the fixed wing holding APP-50 CMDS.

Great pics there mack8. Are those MiG 25 still operational currently?
Judging by the latest pictures ( showing freshly overhauled aircraft), and the 2011 participation in the Circaete exercices , they sure are.:)
