The wood / metal model is from a Nord aviation small VTOL. I can’t remember the name yet. It got cancelled because of a lack of stability…

Hmm..Intresting…to know that even Sweeden was trying to develop a VTOL plane ๐ฎ It is said that “1400-series The entire 1400-series were projects, where the aircraft would have started vertically, (VTOL). One of the projects looked like Hawker-Siddeley P1127 (later renamed Harrier).”
Doe any one has picture of any of these planes ???
PS: I know my wishlist is becoming bigger & bigger but ๐ฎ

Does any body have image of Dassault Cavalier ???
I suspect you are getting confused by all the acronyms. The Bartini-Beriev VVA-14 is an ekranoplane, that is a a “wing-in-ground-effect” machine. It is NOT a VTOL at all.
It is not even a real airplane, btw: It just is not designed to fly within ground effect, ie not very high. (no more than 30-50 metres IIRC)
It takes off like any flying boat, by speeding up along the water surface.
I am sorry I didnt research this on other sites actually I read this info ๐ฎ
This Soviet VTOL amphibian was the brainchild of the Italian immigrant Roberto Bartini. The Beriev OKB handled detailed design and construction. First conventional take off took place on 4 September 1972. Later the three prototypes were converted to Ekranoplans. The third prototype seen here without wings and engines was damaged by fire.

It seems that when they had a reactor meltdown at Chernobyl the Soviets did approach America… the carnegie melon university or something that had developed some robotic machines for working in highly radioactive areas for use at 3 mile island. The Americans refused to help obviously… they didn’t want to hand over that sort of technology… and so the Mi-8 and M-26 pilots dropping Boron and other material onto the exposed core of the reactor died within a few years of the incident, as did many of the ground troops sent in to move people out.
Yeah I had read that Story about Mi-26 Pilot who did that daring task in Reader Digest who later died due to cancer(off course caused by Radiation):(
Hey isnt a cool concept! ๐
