That’s a great question and I am happy to share what I have learned.

We have had our gift shop as long as the facility has been operating, over 20 years, and we have tried many variations of products and test marketed a number of new concepts.

It all breaks down to what people are willing to pay.

Across the age range the market for Polo style shirts and such just is not there in sufficient numbers to justify carrying or producing the shirts.

The Polo/Golf shirt style costs about $5.00 CDN each more to produce…people are not willing to pay the extra dollars. When we have tried it we have ended up having to cut price to match the T-Shirts to clear the stock and as you can guess take a loss.

That has been our experience anyway.

Strangely it was just on the news here..
There is supposedly a seattle/vancouver connection,the story named a guy and apparently he used to make regular trips to a bank in china town, and some of the money supposedly turned up in washington state.
He died in the late 2003 I think they said.

I think about a dozen american pilots served in the BoB, and if they are writing a story,in theory, it could legitimately be from an all american point.
And probably could be filmed in the US with the aircraft in US museums, I think they have JU-88, He-111, Bf 109, Ju-87, spitfire and hurricane available this side of the pond, albeit maybe not the exact marks, but probably very acceptable for interior/cockpit shots.
It will be (whatever comes out) nice to see and if the film has the same impact on the restoration/preservation scene the original film did great, so many suddenly realised what was being lost.

The press release says that they are going to rebuild these to running condition, I wonder if they would be in the market to trade a couple to TFC for their Beaufighter (assuming they are the right type) ?
