Hi
For wartime use 🙂
there was a thread on brit modeller, I cant find it at the moment.
Also pretty sure there is a photo of a mkII with a malcolm hood in the excellent 2TAF book series by chris thomas
Think it had d-day stripes as well
cheers

Hi
maybe a bit simplistic view by me, and could be totally wrong 🙂
but
M = missing
E = enemy (action)

Hi
The model is looking good 🙂
Something to check i maybe wrong 🙂
Going from memory of something i read a long time ago, the manchester bay internals are different from the lancaster, as the manchester was designed to carry two torpedoes, the lanc did not have this option.

Hi

Hi
My slight worry of thought is no brexit, and turkey joins the EU,
( I have nothing against turkey or its people)
it makes possible an almost open door for more ‘trouble’ to come into europe.
EU has done a lot for workers rights, but also swamped the labour market.
A very tough choice for all voting, and I hope we all vote after making ourselves fully educated on the options.
cheers

Hi
An intersting thread here it
http://www.rafcommands.com/archive/16215.php
refers to 44-23482 as Sharps a/c
a single seater.
I always wonder why sharps a/c would carry a personal code of DPA
It pose the question
Would sharpes a/c have more likely been ACS ?
And DPA 44-23517 was someone elses a/c ?
cheers

Hi
For a second i thought you might have found a photo of the whirlwind…..
….. until i saw the beaufighter

How and why? Extra bits on one set of engines?
Hi
I am pretty sure it was just because the inner nacelle/wing was originally designed for the manchester ( vulture engines)
and then just mod’d the nacelle design when the merlins fitted for lancasters
cheers
jerry
Hi
was it something to do with the wing spars ?
I seem to recall something about original wing spars were ok, a new wingspar = new build
but my memory is not so good, and maybe to much rum/ tequila here in sunny mexico 🙂
cheers
jerry
Hi
Interesting is there a list of the aircraft he flew in WW2 ?
