Here you go ink, Official Russian Government Fund Allocation for PAK-FA systems development FY 2008-09 (Lot #4):

It’s about developing pneumatic tanks for emergency opening the landing gear and for inflight refueling probe. Funds allocated are 12.0 mil rubles for 2008, and 4.3 mil for 2009.
More interesting are Lot 1&2, for developing non-metal engine for unmaned aircraft.

    Max. temp before turbine: 665K
    Max. temp after turbine:
    – temp of ambient air <100*C (M<1.9) = 750*C
    – temp of ambient air >100*C (M.1.9) = 765*C
In case of changing engine regimes, temp can change 15*C for 5 sec max.
Max. temp after afterburner chamber: 2082 K
Max gas pressure after compressor stage: 37,2 kg/cm2
Hours work before first maintenance 100h, 30 of them on maximal/afterburner)

Time for engine regime change – from minimum trust to maximum
    – H=0m M=0, 3-5 sec
    – H<8 km, <5sec
    – H>8 km, <8sec
Time for engine regime change – from minimum trust to max afterburner
    – H=0m M=0, <7sec
Number of engine starts from board battery – 5

I can give you more info, but you must be more specific. On your first question, there is enough info in Internet, on your third, i can give you details tomorrow, because i must translate from Russian. If you want there is some schemes like this, and can upload them.

    I nearly forgot.
For the B-2A they have the ……?
For the F-22A they have the …..?

There was never an requirement for soviet stealth bomber. And maybe you forgot the collapse of USSR that lead to scraping MiG 1.44 project. When you don’t look into related details, you give strange claims.

In many cases, the Soviets had no need for an equivalent aircraft. In some cases, they tried and failed. In others, they deemed it to expensive to even try to compete or keep up.

    Well said.

Remember Soviet Radars were successfully used to track objects as small as paint chips in space. Size is not really a problem as long as you have the processing power to track all those new objects or the radar is smart enough to know the difference between a bird flying a 40km/h at 10m, and an insect flying at 10,000m and 800km/h. Not many marbles supercruise at mach 1.4 at 15,000m.

Still, longer wave radars(>1m) cannot give exact coordinates and cannot be used to guide missiles at targets. And there is no fighter capable of housing long wave radar.

Wrong. Russia did demand market-prices from Ukraine. You are in urgent need of update you knowledge base.

I guess you lived in a cave in that period.Watch or read news. Here, have a read:
    http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/01/02/russia.ukraine.impact/index.html
Being optimist will not buy gas.And it seem that you missed all the noise made by EU for such small reduction of delivered gas that have such a large impact. Not to forget that the gas prices increased by 10 percent.

Even when a single factory may be unable to do so in short notice there is no problem really. If the gas for that will come from the Netherlands, North Sea, Norway or Algeria does not matter really.

As Distiller said, you can write off your industry.Solvay-Sodi JSC – Devnia(near my city) wich is involved in the chemical industry is dependable on gas so much that 50% reduction in supply will cause loss of millions of dolars and even shut down of the factory.
And if you think that delivering gas is so simple….Pipeline is not build in a week, and i doubt that there is a country that can increase it’s production in a week to even 30% of what Russia deliver.

So you forgot the energy crisis caused by Russia-Ukraine gas dispute?

If there is not enough gas to buy outside Russia, the Europeans will switch to oil or coal or even nuclear power.

Whishfull thinking.Factory equiped with instalations runing on gas cannot replace it with any other fuel.

What you need to be successful in an anti insurrection war is to cut all access to the media (so your actions can’t be judged by the public opinion), then level the place. Highly unethical, but that might be the only fast way to avoid a lot of losses. That also means COIN planes, napalm, fuel air and submunition weapons.

That will be big mistake. You will create so much more volunteers for insurgency and terrorist attacks that just doing nothing is better.I’m just happy that people like you don’t make decisions about any war.

Could it really haul more, but 9,000-kg was the standard loadout?

Yes.24 tons was the max payload. When the plane was designed, there was requirement of 5000 kg capacity, because that was the weight of RDS-1,first soviet nuclear bomb.
And if you look further, the transport modification for Buran program,BM-T was capable of transporting 32 000 kg.Of course BM-T was based on modernised M-4,the 3M plane.

For a third world cuntry the F-5 offered much more than the MiG-21 or MiG-23 due to its ability to be used in air2ground combat, too.

    So you think MiG-23 can’t?

I have just one thing to say to all who say something is impossible. It’s probably only considered impossible because it hasn’t been tried yet. The other way to look at it is that it’s only impossible until it happens.

Rodolfo said that because of the related cost, not because this can’t be done.

Pesho, your proposal is optimal in terms of effectiveness but turn out to be VERY expensive. Just Russia and may be China will be able to build such a multi-level structure. For countries like i.e. Iran…impossible.

Also, as far I know, Russia doesn’t protect its S-300 with Buk. Just Tor and now Tunguska. Buk are a sort of mobile “shortened S-300”, also escorted by Tunguska. For i.e. Iran this seems to be a more rational option.

I gived how thing must be in one perfect air-defence.I know that this cannot be achieved in large scale.
    And i didn’t make myself clear.S-300V are working with Buk’s protecting ground forces.S-300P*** don’t.

The plague of M-4 is really the engines.Bison was more advanced design than Tu-95 and according to Leonid Selyakov, working in this time in Myasishchev OKB,Tupolev was responsible for the slow work on new more efficient turbojet engines.Later he worked for Tupolev as some joke from destiny. Also Bison used “west” model air-refueling,more usefull to that wing-wing joke used on Tu-16.
