Hi Bob
It’s a bit late for Whitley but could well be Albemarle
Hi Bill – I have been trying to get permission to recover 2 Barra wrecks for some time. If it comes off you can have your pick of any parts you need.
I’m sorry to hear that – your museum made a really excellent start. On another, related note I think we may just have found a Whitley wreck in the English Channel we have been searching for, for the last ten years. I am getting my flippers out as we speak 🙂
Thanks James – don’t worry, I won’t do anything daft. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks Andy

Unfortunately I have always found Aeroplane rather amateurish compared to FlyPast. Don’t send them any photos either – they managed to lose mine. It’s a mystery how as their office is not big.
Thanks, also any chance of a pic of your Spit bit?
Hi Bob – any numbers on that Albemarle jack?
That is an inspectors stamp. I do not know its origin off-hand but if you contact the British Aviation Archaeology Council they may be able to help as I understand they have a list of these stamps.
The distribution of the holes looks a bit odd to me
Both dates are OK for me to help at the Norwich end (1st would be slightly better). Ms. Tin Triangle may also come and lend a hand!
Thanks to everyone for offering. Of course Ms Tin Triangle will be very welcome
Moggy C is good at keeping us all in check. No-one wants to be ‘moggerated’ 😉
Moggy as you can keep this forum in line but if it gets out of hand perhaps Mrs Moggy should be a back up Mod for the really naughty members like Jim!!:D
Part of wing folding mechanism…?
Thanks for that – the Whitley would have had an ASV set – it’s possible it would have fitted this rack…
Langdon, if you or anyone else can post a pic of the anchor plate (nut?) hopefully someone will be able to help.
