Lovely film, and another airfield site just crying out for a museum and some preservation before it’s too late.
Having a personal liking for the F-100 it’s great to see the Quonset shelters, aircrew buildings and part of the runway barrier still in place, and that runway still looks in superb condition.

It’s television, and American television at that! Don’t believe a word of it 🙂

It was valued by an ex USAF serviceman at $3500. Needless to say after that the seller wanted more than the original 300 asked for, and the buyer had basically shot himself in the foot by having it valued!

if the TBM is to go, perhaps it could go on loan to the FAAM as being more representative of the type used during the war, rather than the post war ASW/ECM conversion currently on display.

I appreciate its your own point of view, jeepman, but why do you feel displaying a postwar variant is wrong?

Heading into Cambridge was BA’s 787 G-ZBJE, at 4,000ft overhead:

Oh so it was a Dreamliner, saw it parked at Marshalls but I wasn’t sure. First one I’ve seen!

I’m not really one for painting parts, dylan9321, instead much preferring to leave things original and conserve them ‘as is’ – whether that’s as recovered or taken out of service.

Originality is a huge draw for me!

Yes seen that before Dave, and it’s very impressive. The thing that stood out for me was the speed of the undercarriage retracting on that model – its pretty close to the real thing.
Also good to see that the undercarriage is fitted the correct way round, as some flying models I’ve seen of Wyverns for some reason have the main wheels facing inwards instead of outwards!

Sorry this took so long! I promised a photo of the control yoke/column once cleaned, you may notice I made a bracket where there was a lot of damage to hold the yoke in place for display purposes only. Also the missing half of the Yoke has now been welded back in place, I still need to blend the weld in bit before I am completely finished.
