Thanks to member TT18 Timbo it appears that the item in post #11 is possibly a terminal which lives in the suppressor box of a P3 engine driven generator. Where would I be without you on that one Timbo 😎

Ok how about this one from a separate crash site nearby although not entirely sure it’s Canberra, but marked TYER’S LO# No 191#22.
    Any ideas?

Yes some lovely photos of the classic jets. Surprised no one else has commented on the single seat Gnat that will be returning to the air which I believe would make it unique as a flier, certainly in the UK anyway. Can’t wait to see that one finished and airborne!

Great find, and some really interesting pieces in the photos. Be good to see how these clean up, especially that turbine / compressor fan and windscreen section.

Yes congratulations to Sywell on an excellent and very usable acquisition. I’m sure letting ‘887’ go was a huge wrench for Matt after all the hard work he has lavished on her but im equally sure she’s still in safe hands.

Ha! You beat me to it, WF. That caught my eye too 🙂 Very interesting indeed. They kept a Welkin but set fire to and then buried a Whirlwind at about the same time?

I wonder if anyone at Westlands remembers either of these being extant. Sadly he’s not around anymore but I’d say Fred Ballam would have a memory or two to share, at least regarding the Welkin!

Hmm interesting suggestion, Blue. If it is then I wonder where-abouts as it only has a bulb at one end and wiring at the other!

The Westland Welkin in the care of Westland Aircraft at Yeovil is a fascinating one, and by the looks of it still around during August 1959.

A few more items for identification. The harmonica shaped piece seems to have a bulb inside it. And the blue piece appears to be some sort of sprung lift up cover, but from whereabouts on the Canberra?

A few more bits for I.d please guys. I initially thought the item on the right which is metal with a ceramic type base was the aerial thingy from the bomb aimers window at the front, but it doesn’t look long enough. Incidentally its 8.5 cms long.

    Any ideas?

All I can remember David was that it was a programme that featured different aircraft – three of which I remember were the Sea Harrier, B-25 and Catalina, with a few minutes describing its role and uses including past and present day footage. And the Plane Sailing Cat was one of those on that particular episode.
I think it’s on every week but for the life of me I can’t remember which channel.

    Hope that helps!

    Rob
