Well i cant beat ten but four just did a run and break before landing here at Duxford.
Edit.. Two more, a two seater and the Mk1 just returned.
Looks like a Saab Lansen to me!
Jason i’m slightly confused now about your exact location. Are you occupying the last buildings that are on the edge of what was the airfield, beside the A1303… or are you actually in Bottisham village itself?
The evaporative cooling system can be seen in operation in the link i posted in post #80.
Still hard to believe whats happening this year as regards historic accidents! 🙁
I agree Bruce, very informative thanks. My question stems from the previous Voodoo incident, which sounds like a very similar set of circumstances.. but thankfully with a different ending. And from a non-knowing outsiders point of view wondered if race pilots wore specific anti-G attire of any kind.!
Just out of interest ZRX61, do race pilots at Reno wear any form of anti g-suit or restraint.. considering the high speeds attained when racing and possible amount of G that can suddenly be applied?
Thanks for the extra pcs HP81.. especially the Meteors. And just look at that sad forlorn Mirage IV, one of my favourites and best looking aircraft ever in my opinion!
Some lovely pics, but also some very sad looking airframes. The two ‘Meatboxes’ are interesting and look to be still fairly sound. Both two seaters i presume. The 707 and DC-7 appear to be some of the longest stored.. and desperately in need of some tlc.
Intriguing collection though! 🙂
Nice video of the same aircraft arriving, landing and taxiing in at Reno last year;
Appears Jimmy was on his third lap when something went wrong.
A horrifying incident by all accounts.. and a very sad day!
Took these a couple of months ago;
One of the catchiest for me and most recent is Hotel Babylon;
