Quick bump as it’s this weekend. Weather seems okay with some showers but hopefully shouldn’t deter a good turn out, some Austers arriving tomorrow afternoon/evening

With the amount of RFC songs it would be hard to tell, every Squadron seemed to have their own certain songs, some widespread ones are fairly well known but there’s no doubt many more lost over time

Speaking of which, the T-6 ‘Texan Tomcat’ under restoration to flight with Beech Restorations served as a counter insurgency aircraft with the French Air Force in Algeria, fitted with rocket pods and machine gun packs

Richard Webber’s Auster III MT438 certainly saw action in the far east, as did a respectable number of other Austers still airworthy

    Would IWM Wroughton be interested?

Unless something spectacular in the museum world has recently happened, the storage facility at Wroughton is part of the Science Museum, not the Imperial War Museum

Nice to see the Argus still at Sibson, I did my skydive for the RNLI there a good number of years back (never again…..)

I believe the Taylorcraft BRPX is usually at Leicester

Avro, would you still like me to ask on the Auster Club site about the ID’s or any other info on them?

Nice, i’ve seen that one around Mallory last year too. Apparently another aero engined car, a 1926 Hispano Delage will be at Curborough today

Can anyone reccomend a decent Meteor book for information on the F.9/40 and the F.1’s?

Nice, i’ve texted a friend who should, hopefully, in turn contact someone at Stow Maries to let them know!
