Personally i’d reccomend the Science Museum – their superb ‘Dan Dare and the birth of hi-tech Britain’ exhibition is still on until October and has some interesting aviation exhibits, including a Bloodhound missile. As well as the historically important aircraft gallery of course

At least two were involved in the very large scale ceremony with 15,000 spectators at Nervesa della Battaglia, which, as well as a recreation of the crossing of the river and storming Austro-Hungarian positions, had aircraft dogfighting above, which me and some other British representatives were flown out for

Italian Harvard who used to be on here was involved with the team. Here’s a photo taken on my camera (but not by me) of the dogfighting

Wow, look at it there, even in bits, out in the sunshine- what a contrast to the stygian gloom it usually has to lurk in!

Luckily, it won’t be lurking in gloom when it returns

Dave, do you have a copy of the photo of HB275? I’d be very interested in seeing it.

    Cheers, Rob

PS, the correct spelling is ‘Expeditor’, it’s a very common mistake

There has been two mentions now on this thread about getting a third Wellington back on its feet. Although there is a substantal wing section at EK are there any other airframes in existance?

Combined with different bits you wouldn’t be too far off a complete one – rear end at Moreton in the Marsh, and another fuselage at Brooklands which is a walk-through exhibit which is loosely covered

G-APVE was in the UK, registered in 1959 (by the Earl of Derby, no less), but ownership changed in June 1963 and in Jult 1963 went to Australia, full details here

Pretty self descriptive, a Rolls Royce Eagle 8 – could have been fitted to one of the large Handley Page O/400 and V/1500 aircraft, but also fitted to another large variety of aircraft
