Maybe, but if you wouldn’t post them, I would not have known what I have missed. 😉

Very nice! We have seen a lot of nice things from Wanaka this week. This tread proves again that this must have been a great show!
The pictures are amazing! It doesn’t get any better than this!
WOW!!!
That is great news! If someone has more pics of this historic event please…. Finaly a flying seafire! This news realy made my day! 😎
Thanks for sharing Mark 12!
Let me try!
Messed up Buchons! 😀
But if someone buys one of those 25 machines, I think he will prefer to rebuild it as a ‘real’ Me 109.
Thanks Dave.
And yes, that Tiger Moth is beautifull! It is a very nice example of this type. It is currently up for sale at pioneer aero in NZ! If I only could…..
Dont you just love this?
It did serve for a very long time (compared to the Me109) and it was a important type for the Spanish AF. It was used in relative large numbers. It was indeed the last step in the evolution of this famous plane that was different to earlier types. If I would be from spain, I would be proud that my country had built a plane like this.
I think the Buchon is standing too much in the shadow of the Me 109. It deserves a airworthy example in its own configuration.
But the ‘real’ DB Me109 is of course much more important in history than the Buchon!
That would be nice indeed Roger. They could also restore the plane in its Buchon configuration, without any Me109 features. Yes, A pure Buchon is a good idea! It was a important plane afer all.
No, as I thought, the MK XVI has a extra fuel tank built in its fuselage so they are not completely the same.
Thanks for that Daz. I knew that about the engine 😉 but I just wanted to confirm that both the MK IX and MK XVI had the Merlin.
The differance between the MK IX and the MKXVI isnt the engine, but the amount of fuel it can carry. I believe thet the MK XVI has a extra fuel tank (behind the engine?) and so having a longer range than the MKIX.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Is the collection of Ed Russell on the net? If someone can post the link, I would be very happy.

That Nord’s been modified a bit too!
Just compare it to the one in the “Hun in the Sun” thread… Same type!! (Who’s reg I’ve just twigged G-ETME.. Get Me… D’oh!)
Yep Arm Waver, I have taken a look and it is a great differance indeed. The one seen here at Wanaka has been modified a lot. You can hardly speek of a me108 anymore. But still nice to look at it.

That does it! I must give the 5 stars again! This might encourage you to take even more pics in the future.
Apologize me to your partner please! :p

The Me108 is a Nord 1002 – Unusual engine though…
Yes, my father and I are just talking about the same thing. Does someone know the engine used here?
