Sea Knight? Looking forward to seeing something new regardless. When is it expected to arrive?

Unlikely to be 5536 as I think the engines were too deeply buried. A pre excavation photo would show the horizontal section of the tail sticking out of the mud but not much else. It made a good place to sit after the long trudge out to the site.

Yes, I’m with GYD on export/fancy Hawk. Never heard of Page as a manufacturer. ‘Page’ is a challenging google. It’s all a learning experience!

He should be. Checking the website it a US Airacobra with a British serial: http://laituk.org/P-39%20BX195%20article.htm

Nick Wotherspoon’s your man for RAF Airacobra colours having helped recover lots of one. I’ve only seen small bits of green US ones.

Nice door! There is a photo in the Mushroom publication on Airacobras which shows Russians (one in a furry hat so they must be) arming a camouflaged ex RAF P39D-1 so it’s a definite possibility.

The top bits looks like Wellington geodetic. The bottom part is, as AA suggests, sufficient evidence of Amelia’s Electra to organise a fund raising drive for TIGHAR.

Here’s a comparison between a Hawk grip and a ‘tank’ grip. The bottom grip looks more Hawk but the trim control looks American so perhaps export. I’m also after a trim switch for my FRS1 grip. I think ‘Page’ refers to drawing rather than manufacturer.

A fine selection there AM! Second from left top photo is Sea Harrier FRS1. Third from left is GR3 post mods 1222 and 1493 for Sidewinder. The first grip looks more Hawk than Harrier.

Well spotted Banansplits! I wouldn’t bother telling the vendor, I’ve tried before.

What’s wrong with cars or lumps of concrete? As a way of displaying something with a local connection this sucks.

That Sabre canopy vendor will have the child protection/busybodies after him, sealing his kids under perspex!
Anyone for a Chippie cockpit? still too wide to fit through my front door… http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DE-HAVILLAND-CHIPMUNK-T-10-AIRCRAFT-FULL-COCKPIT-RESTORATION-PROJECT-/121372884634?pt=UK_CPV_Aviation_SM&hash=item1c42633e9a

It is very rare because it is not off that, or any other Spitfire.

The application of after sun has not improved my lobster like face but not dimmed the enjoyment. Un cropped photos here. The Venom was a particular treat. I didn’t realise that helicopters were on display or would have come over and looked.

Thanks for the info Nick. Reading around a little, the button on the RHS relates the knobbly night vision lumps on the underside of the nose, retrofitted to G and H models? Hopefully the pics of the trim area will help. Sorry to read of your photo posting woes, that is a great shame. Is it possible to link from a sharing site? I must admit to losing interest myself when it gets that complicated.
The other attachment is from a different forum, a find in Finland. Certainly looks aircraft, but what?

An excellent day out. Wine and sunburn prevent a more eloquent or illustrated reply but I have some damned good photos and memories.
