EDIT: but patent drawings would be fantastic.
but its bolted down based on the primer pic
oh. man with X-ray eyes.
Pardon me for being a skeptic, but is there even any proof that it IS a weapons bay?
would Sukhoi patent drawings be enough? just in case, they were posted here about a year ago
well how does it open to release the missile?
fast does it!
a housing that’s jettisoned when the missile is launched.
Though even worse for me is having it confirmed that no, there are no side bays on the PAK-FA for short-range AAMs.
back in winter, 2010, again.. [facepalm]
AFAIK, FOD screen on T-50 is a rather complicated design driven by [complicated] inlet duct geometry, and hidden most time while aircraft on the ground (well, you rarely can see that grille on Su-27 family in operation as well)
as I know how it does look, I’m not sure if first two AV have it (first thing to look for are – obviously – some sort of opening(s) for it to extract junk) – and I don’t see any (so far)
if radar blocker (that coaxial-radial grille, KRR) is not a myth or disinformation, FOD screen device goes in front of it occupying place behind MLG well (wall of last serving as outer wall of intake ramp), making rather short T-50 intake a very complicated piece of engineering. well, inlet itself is a engineering masterpiece being much more advanced device than it seems at first glance and not your daddy’s F-15 or F-14 movable ramp design…but enough of that now
Flankers carry them in the middle.. but pak-fa has the bays..
…and FGFA will have the wings…
I must say, every time i see those solutions including missile racks strapped on the inside W-bay doors..
F-35doesn’t have them ‘strapped on the inside doors’, they have separate launcher (like F-32 would have, too)
When cruising at say 1.2Mach and you open those doors with a missle on it.. its all bye bye door!:D
meantime, those Northrop designers who had left provisions for AIM-9s launchers on YF-23A WB doors, wouldn’t agree with you…
yes…it’s much less…intricate
I suppose KTRV would like to advertise larger bombs in weapon bay but somehow they decided to tell nothing of them.
Interesting, that original December, 2010, KTRV statement has disappeared from their site
If the PAK-FA bay is big enough for 1000kg guided bombs
just 250 kg bombs. that’s official statement from KTRV. (KAB-250/UAB-250 (SDBski))
You listed the very biggest ones, not to mention mostly anti ship ones
…initially never designed to be air-launched at all…
It is said the the MFI MiG 1.42 could carry 12 R-77 internally because of the folding fins 😮
Pure BS
there are no blockers on T50-1 and T50-2. Dirty areas are …just dirty areas left from support structure.
