Hi Wulfie
We are looking into bringing our Chipmunk cockpit section over from Leicester, we will be in touch about it soon.
Ritch and Max Blood.
Hi all
A few quick words from the Leicester crew.
First, as always a massive thank you to all at the Newark Air Museum for all there hard work and help over the weekend. I think 2013 will be remembered as a classic fest and we all had a brilliant time. We all know how much hard work Howard, bill and the guy’s put in, but often forget to thank everyone else, the ladies in the cafe’s keep us sustained and looked rushed off their feet, and the lady who quietly went around tidying up the site with a smile, thank you all so much. Personaly, we loved the layout this year, it seemed to draw people around more and I think it worked well. The whole site felt less cluttered than before and was very tidy.
HOWEVER! I want to make one small suggestion, and I ask for everyones feedback on this. I think Newark should add a byline to their name, and add “Britains Friendliest Aviation Museum” what do we all think?
It was good to see all of our old mates again, and to make new friends as well. Every exhibit was brilliant in it’s own special way, and we would have voted for everyone if we could have done.
Our little Chippy was very busy all weekend, and we must have had over a hundred smiling faces looking at us through the canopy, everyone from mum’s and dad’s to the smallest of children, and not a single problem, breakage or tear from any of them, so all went well.

Hi Akis
Thanks for getting in touch with me. Could you e-mail me at ritch.blood@virginmedia.com please and I will be very happy to talk to you about your great uncle.
Best wishes,
Ritch.
God this thread makes me feel old!
I have the distinction of being the first British engineer to be employed on British opperated Electra’s. I was the “token Brit” as they lovingly called me, employed by TPI International to work on N356Q the first L-188 leased to Air Bridge Carriers. The start of an era, I loved my time on the Electra.
Oh to be young again!!!!
Hi Laurence
PM sent.
Thanks Ross for both the images and the PM.
Thanks Ross
That’s brilliant. And yes I can see all of them this time.
Told Max I had been in contact with you, and he sends his best wishes.
Thanks again,
Ritch.
Hi Ross
Sorry, the links just send me to blank pages. Why can’t they just leave things alone! the Forum was running great till they decided to fix it!!!
Could you send the images to mt e-mail address? I will send it on a PM.
Thanks again,
Ritch.
Thanks for the help Ross and critter592 that is all a great help.
Ross, I couldn’t open the thumbnails in your first reply though, mind you, I have only just managed to get back on the forum, why do they have to mess with things????
PM sent, thanks.
Hi Gareth
PM sent, thanks.
This information is all I have.
Hi Alan
I only have the CWGC and Aviationarchaeology site information, and hope to fill that out as much as possible.
Thanks.
Thank’s pagan01 it all helps
I have the log books
David, XL603 is indeed for sale at the moment. It is being sold by a gent in Florida, who now ownes the airframe. I have the log books here, but need to conclusivly tie them to the airframe, so that they can be re-united with each other.
I have found the serial numbers for the mainplanes in the form 700’s but can find no referance to the fuselage serial number that I have been sent. The form 700’s only carry the RAF serial number (XL603).
Thanks Pagen01
Thank’s Pagen01, that sounds right to me, I just found referance to the Blue Fox being installed in the form 700 whilst it was with FRADU.
