Tend to see me dinner again on the dak, even bbmf veterans like fluffy love to blow chunks on the dak. FLYING SICK BAG
You should have tried flying in the bomber before the heat exchanger was sorted out, there’s nothing like 180 mph exhaust fumes to induce a technicolour yawn. Oh happy days….
AF
Enjoy life, Its the only one you’ve got.
Might just point out that this is a suitable epitaph for this thread as well:
“Proud to be English.
Enjoy life, its the only one you’ve got.”
Feel free old friend, I’ve been using it for ages.
Steve was proud, and he enjoyed life.
Steve.
Just looked through some of the previous threads and Steves replies and this one is very poinient and brought a lump to my throat
RIP Steve this thread says it all 🙁

Just read it Sparks, have to agree with that all the way.
A bloke in the pubs uncles cats grandfather told it it was due to fly on a Tuesday.
which Tuesday –
A correction.
Auster Fan. I have to agree with your view of the airshow. I believe the Mustang pair were both U.S. pilots, relatively unknown in the U.K., although I’m happy to be corrected. For me there were no negatives. It’s an unbeatable show.
The reason ML407 was not there, nor has it ever participated at Flying Legends, is because it is a trianer and there are no trainers at that show. I know of one exception once, but I’ll leave the experts to spot that.
And you are not really in trouble. Good to see you.
Janie,
Just to correct you, Carolyn Grace and ML407 have participated at Flying Legends in the following years – 1996 1997 and 1998.
Ta Ta.
What a bloody shame
I never met the bloke, but, bloody hell.
Thoughts to Steves family and friends.
As I say at the bottom of all my post’s
ENJOY LIFE, ITS THE ONLY ONE YOU’VE GOT – I think Steve did.
Steve
Hi I do not wish to cause offence or raise an issue that will cause someone pain but I have not seen a reference here to the Biplane which crashed at the German Parliment two days ago – can anybody enlighten me. It looked to be an early German type such as a FW.

News to me this one.
Is it really that important, if the thread says riat or waddington then dont look. Your not forced to view the pics, like the name though “plane junky” erm?
Fair comment.
From my view in the Dak I think that 35,000 is a bit excessive, however I could be wrong. The location was good but we didn’t land to sample the burgers. Instead I had a £10 burglar in a hotel in Blackpool.
From what I saw on Saturday, you’ve had enough burgers anyway.
You missed a good evening at Walney, but without you guys we had enough ale to go round.
See ya soon.

AF,
I’m glad you had a great day out.
These little local airshows hold much greater appeal than the annual shove-fest at Duxford.
I bet the numpty level in the crowd was low too.
Cheers
Andy
Food good and afordable, people willing to help, no pratts on ladders at the fence. An all round nice place. When we left in the Spitfire at the end of the show people were still full of enthusiasm, good to see.
Level of Numpties – Low.
Number of interesting people – V High.
Avro – please don’t be sorry about not posting pictures! Infact it’s a relief! I know what they look like – its nice to fill in the blanks in my mind!
Fair coment.
Sorry Papa Lima, I should have been more prescriptive (it was late at night!!!). Basically, I used my digicamera not the scanner as I do not know how to reduce the resolution….yet!!! I will not post more phots until I can do it properly…..sorry…..when I looked at the posted shots I realised they were worse than useless…sorry again!
Don’t put yourself down, they’re good. It makes a change from endless “Flying Fagend” pictures. Keep em coming.
Do you and AF know something we don’t?
It’s just a long time since the Lancaster has operated out of Duxford, don’t worry, it’s not being retired or any thing bad so –
relax – and – breath.
I wouldn’t say it was the best ever though, far from it in “my humble opinion” and I’ve worked at them all including classic fighter.

The L39 took off from the grass at Duxford in the mid 90s, before you ask what time of year, it was winter, it was wet and it took a long time. I think they turned left up Royston high Street in order to get the last few miles an hour. The reason they used the grass – the hard runway was closed for repair.
Ta Ta.

The best part of Lagends was having the Lanc operating out of Duxford again.
I hope it’s not the last time.
