I also have some distant recollection of some plywood aircraft (B17s?) being put together over the far side of the airfield for a film? Some vague memories, but happy nonetheless…

Possibly the Prukas (or Stutors?) used for the BoB film? Proctors modified to look something like Stukas.

I don’t recall Harvard G-BBHK as having been owned by DA / WoGB – was that the case?

GINFO will give you ownership details – DA/WoGB is not listed.

    SL721 – now in Canada.
This aircraft was crated by my father in ’78 & sent to Phoenix where he re-assembled it for Woodson K Woods. He was due to return the following year for follow up remedial work, but suffered a heart attack.

And you have not mentioned the cooling or viscosity effect of the oil………maybe that will come with the castor oil research?

Junk Heads & sticking or pinching of the sleeves I think are the biggest failures, not limited to the Centaurus either, I believe Hercs & ‘Big Hercs’ as my father used to call them, suffered too. They need special 100U oil too.

    ….. perhaps using monel rivets.

Wot – the ones that fly in loose formation?
Seriously it does seem that the modern powers that be need to recognise that better materials now exist & not be so rigid in order to exclude themselves from potential legal proceedings….What happens after Brexit in Europe or the UK?

    CACU?

The bolts look as if they are BA, & the Simmonds nuts more like 1950’s?

No one has referenced looking at AP 1492A. Towed target equipment. It seems Shuttleworth have a copy in their files, but no references elsewhere. Might be worth a look?

I think Fairey had a contract to produce drawings in the AS series, so possibly also had a contract to manufacture same? I remember seeing the drawings by Fairey in SBAC Handbook of standard parts back in the 70’s.
How about a Defiant TT, or Mosquito TT’s at Llanbedr – off at a tangent?

I use Opera for my browser & it has shown up as a dangerous site since yesterday. I have overridden the warning to post this.

‘Better on a camel’, or ‘Brings you there & takes you back’ – nothing about reaching ones destination……going way off topic!
