    ok now seriously, I think that who is very interested can open new thread about current missiles airtoair, and on this new thread to write all sources and to talk about it. By my side, this is the thread of the Su-57 and conversation should not go for other way more than necessary

    Did you question Brahmos modifications by India? A country that is scientifically backward compared to Russia and has ordered world largest numbers of supersonic missiles. so why interjecting about airtoair missiles in Su-57.

    I talked about information of the missiles that is public domain. So, do not tell me what i need post or not. If you do not like it is not my problem

    R-77-1 range exceed Su-27 radar and that was decade ago. now double it again in 10 years. so most probably around 220km in 2018.
    Phase 2 need upgrade to MIG31 radar for newer missiles.

    Just a fortnight ago, in late September, there was the first successful launch of an upgraded air-to-air missile by a Su-27SM3 prototype, with the missile hitting its target. To extend the missile’s range, we had upgraded the antenna, transmitter and RF update channel of the Su-27’s organic radar.
    The Su-27SM3 upgraded fighter entered its official tests and, probably, will serve the pattern for upgrading the Su-27 fighters in combat units.

    Phase Two will see the weapons suite beefed up through adopting advanced medium- and long-range missiles and upgrading the Zaslon radar accordingly.

    I am not agree.

    R-77-1 with around 100 kms data range its miles away from Amraam Aim 120 d (180 km)or C6, and worst situatuon against Meteor with a nez around 90 kms per 20-30 kms R-77-1. R-77 only received 1 update from 30 years ago. R73M can not compete too with Aim 9x or iris-T, do not have ir-imaging and only its 60º off-boresight. All western short misiles are ir-imaging and over 90º off-boresigh.

    So no, its outdated weaponry. Of course can be lethal, but its miles away from western missiles in that moment

    R-77-1 are decade old downgraded export figures.

    According to Sukhoi the Su-27SM(3) is more than twice as effective against aerial targets and three times more effective against ground targets than the Su-27S.

    There is big difference between Corporate finances and Government finances. for example Chinese are the owners of Volvo while Italians are owners of Pirelli. Ownership gives you control over deployment of R&D and factories. similar case is with large energy and Industrial firms. Italy also get huge money from tourism. The point is they show themselves bankrupt infront of EU for obvious reason.

    Out of pure morbid curiosity, is it “good news” that a state run aerospace manufacturer has produced 90 ish Su-35s over 6 years, a positive that the newest fighter will have a production run of 12 aircraft over the next year GPV?

    In the words of RT “question more”.
    Forget western media, ask why even the Su35s production is pathetic.

    F-35…. 300 and counting for a “failed project”, the USN has had more advanced aircraft delivered than the VKS, recently.

    Wake me up when then combined Su-35s and SU-57 production equals the “cancelled” 195 airframe run of the F-22.

    I am surprised you are even comparing production rates. Each new Flanker comes with big pods. bigger than pods and range than carried by F-35 and F-22.

    Plus Industrial labor is more efficiently used in upgrading even longer range bombers. There is a lot more difference in diversifaction and throughput of energy so that another financial crises does not cut production un like F-22.

    Once again, I have not said that the SU-57 in not to some degree stealthy, just that due to lack of experience (shown in the oblivious use of IRST balls, vent slits, corner reflectors, etc) that it is not to the level of the F-22/35. Give them a decade or two of experience combined with an increase in tech availability and I have no doubt that Sukhoi should be able to get into the VLO range of RCS.

    That experience hardly valid argument. LM has advantage of using computers much earlier due to US investment in semiconductors while Soviet Union was building steel mills in Ukraine. there was never effective investments in computing. it was horizontal spread out of medium tech assemblies.
    now skilled labor and investment is going at right places. and you can see it so fast development in various sectors of Russian economic system and Tanks like Armata platform.

    But I am not talking about 12 aircrafts, I am talking about 50 aircrafts which they planned in early years of Su-57 testing!

    Indians left program. So cost of production line just for Russia would be very high and low oil price and no export orders only makes things worse. So they decide to delay Su-57 production until economy is better.

    TASS article is very clear Russia is cutting military spending, not some huge cut but cut.

    the second stage engine not certified. so there is no point in building larger number. The first 12 enough for creating training. Russia is only country that can make and afford 100% domestic 5+G and 6G fighters in large quantities. Its government sells least amount of bonds.

    They are already building components for 6G fighter.

    If you’re worried about cost of a home in America you live in the wrong place, because you chose where to live. And our highway system and low gasoline/deisel prices make it rather negligible to drive 45 minutes to an hour to commute to work. In more urbanized areas you might commute 90 or more if you want a cheaper home. The only problem is self imposed.

    use automobile to make cost of living lower?. Is the Tyre industry not dependent on rubber and all the energy chemicals needed to produce it. Isnt that waste of labor? I can show you 100 other inputs like clean water supply losses.

    The F-35 is a 50 states wide jobs program. The industrial base is immune to anything save for cataclysmic interruptions.

    each small sub contractor will have bank loan to keep them afloat. And they will need audited financial statements to get the loans from the banks. Its big finance operations to keep the subcontractors afloat. On top of that it is 50% built outside US. and it will have to deal with cost of transport and currency fluctuation.

    Most importantly, because the subcontracting is farmed out with minimal input from 3rd parties, the parts are solely built off serialized spec sheets without revealing information to the provider other than parts numbers and critical design specifications, its practically impossible for anyone but the actual design house to use political cronyism. And because it would be so costly as a winning bidder on the main contract to get caught up in politics, it becomes a solely results driven venture. Small minds cannot grasp these big picture goals.

    create so big numbers of sub contractors. you are creating vast layer of management across the firms that try squeeze profits from each other.

    less landing. less stress on airframe and tyres. This is called flying six sigma for attack and transport with same engine.

    Actually the subcontractors that build the tiniest parts have no clue what their contribution to the project does. They are just making parts to match design specs. The key is the tight control of the specs. You’re actually improving your fundamental manufacturing base with this strategy, not wasting it.

    you are never going to improve manufacturing base rather adding army of bean counters aka cost accountants, lawyers (each firm will defend there position if there is dispute) sales people, transportation, security.
    see hourly rise in house prices where F-35 built. no amount of Six sigma can solve it.

    Canadian PM statement that Canada provide steel and aluminium for US weopon industry. now Canada is in North. Canadian making money out of US are likely buying stuff from China. I don’t think MIG need this six sigma until this point.

    you can see this efficiency in transporting attack helicopters over long distance with fuel tanks. let see how many choppers can do that. it shows strong manufacturing base.

    I doubt MIG approach to building fighters is same as LM. The MIG factories are in low cost towns.

    Lockheed Martin has been using Six Sigma and Lean since the late 90s. Like many other companies the early use of the methodologies took place in small pockets around the company without a centralized effort. Then in 1999 Lockheed Martin started the LM21 initiative

    if you are using multiple contractors to produce same product at cheapest price (open bidding gives incentive to enter same product line) than you are basically wasting critical skill labor on duplicate work supplying to non productive sector . this give outside competitors who’s engineering skills are more focused to build better products.

    Reliance on Russian aviation design prowess has not played well for the Indian’s FGFA. The Russian design bureaus could not pay their engineers in the 1990s so they all quit. For many their income was higher if they drove a taxi cab. When they left, the Russian design bureaus lost the expertise needed to field a workable weapon system. After the T-50 prototype rollout, the Russians seem to struggle with maturing it into an operational airplane.

    Will the Russians suddenly develop the skills to help Turkey develop an airplane for a new aircraft carrier? I doubt it. Best to check with Dassault and see if they will sell Ms.

    India simply not have the money to pay market price of 5.5G technology at this point.
    T-50 has already flown 4000km non stop if not more in 2013.

    it has already launched heavy missiles and carried heavy external fuel tanks. The strength of airframe with 3D TVC already proven.
    Russian design bureaus paid well for the cost of living the competent people at the locations factories are operating. Just look at Sukhoi Superjet. Only 3 flying prototypes in less than 3 years of flight testing it entered into service. while Boeing need help from Russians to get B777 and B787 design with more testing. MS-21 flight testing with advanced composite materials. how big is the antenna on A-100 AWACS and the wingtip pods?. let Airbus put this size of antenna.
    Dassualt/ Airbus are joke compared to UAC. Airbus/Dassualt lack of expertise make even small upgrades expensive and slow to implement. offcourse everything is hidden inside Euro system for now. I don’t see any one else can help Turkey with its medium size VTOL fighter that can land smaller carriers beside UAC.

    Not exactly “small”, the two RN ships have a bigger displacement than the Kusnetsov or the Liaoning.

    It is not size of ship but the size of fight in ship aka fighter/weopon capability in ships that determine its size. Unless UK built large support bases in Pacific and Mediteranean the sustainability of ships will be not much. Kuzentov made a lot of sorties despite not having big support near Syria.
    This RN ships not getting full fighter wing well beyond 2025. by that time even attack choppers will be capable of 1000km missiles.

    it also means it makes it much easier for NATO to side with Greece during a dispute. Also supporting the Kurds.

    Greece or others wont matter once Russia side with Turkey as it will be using it such way that other problems will become more pressing.

    Without wanting to be condescending, I don’t think you have any idea how complex this little ‘update’ would actually be, given that the flying platform never actually went into production

    you should reread the whole thing more thoroughly. At $3b to $4b Russia can easily develop a export class VTOL fighter. which will be fraction of what Turkey will be spending on F35B with no export or modification rights. The plan is already in motion for post 2025 cruiser and carriers.

    Turkey is already look to use TAEC Turbo-fan engines on the new Heavy lift aircraft dubbed An-188 by Antanov of Ukraine.

    I doubt Ukraine can develop anything even with 99% imported parts and that will become more obvious.
