    That being said, even the vaunted F-15C with a top speed of mach 2.5 has never gone faster than 1.4 in combat.

    I am glad you wrote. the airframe is built with old technology and un upgradable for sustain high performance.

    I mean the days of the Paris Treaty are gone and the prices of the planes have 10 000 folded in half a century or 70+ years.

    certainly it has increased manifold compared to Auto prices over 70 year period. but cars usually carry they same 4 or 5 passenger at similar constrained speed with essentially same fuel tank size. while Fighters have to carry as much payload as bombers of 70 years ago to higher speed and altitude with longer distance. on top of that long range sensors. diving test of cars is same. Pilots need advanced simiulators and much more advanced trainers.

    Finland is nowhere close to Israel when it comes to ties and partnerships with US.

    EU is facing lower currency and higher commodities prices due to Middleast and on top of that there are unofficial trade sanctions. I fully expect that Germany will impose EU wide austerity carefully designed without any one knowing to hedge against inflation.

    It is very well known that many German specialists were sent to the USA and other western countries after the war and worked on many military and aerospace projects – it is not so well known that the USSR also took advantage of ‘nazi’ German know-how in the post-war period as well – that was why I raised the point.

    US already had 40m German decent people with much superior R&D infrastructure. USSR simply cant take advantage of the few went there way.

    They will keep posting even if they’re ignored and it looks very bad if no one challenge their nonsense. To everyone else it looks like we are accepting their garbage.

    instead of showing some technical competence in reply. you post irrelevant stuff. Flanker like Su-27SM easily designed for 8 tons load that I hinted in previous post.that mean advance FBW easily implemented for extreme agility as airframe is strong enough for endurance under loads and turns. F-15C has none of those features. it is unsustainable in loads like carrying 10AAMs Meteor class or R-77-1.

    Accelerate better?. do you have data of Su-27SM that use lighter avionics and 3950km range on internal fuel. It can lift full 8 tons and equipped with IRST and wingtip pods. It’s real operational aircraft.

    The P-800 was developed in the 1960s? Ground targets don’t move at all, what’s your point?

    P-800 development started later but it has nothing to with its scientific basis. It is MIG Ye-8 that is 1960s technology but if Soviet Union actually wanted to implement it would have taken until 1980s. its the inherent limitation in Soviet Computers and machines.
    Ground targets have a lot more flexibility. you can empty a building, you can put dummy targets. the missile has to differentiate between a lot of different things to hit the real thing. while at Sea it it is known ship that has no where to hide.

    You can look on Google Earth at the defences. Green = SA-6, Red = SA-2, Cyan = SA-3, Pink = SA-5, Blue = EW site.

    Yes google earth knows active site with upgrades since they cant locate buk and pantsir site.

    Many AShM’s are actually larger. E.g. P-800, P-750, P-500, Kh-22 and the others aren’t much smaller. Cruise missile also fly very low and can skim over flat desert.

    Those Ashms were developed from 1960s and there likely role is to light up ship radars for eventual saturated attack from smaller combined attack of Antiship/Anti radiation missiles. ships does not need to sunk just disable so it need tugs to rescue and create even bigger target for second wave of attack. even Ka-52K is designed for smaller long range antiship missile. you refuse to admit that airpower has more flexibility in time and place of choosing a strike and can greatly reduced time of reloading. ship does not travel more than 30knots an hour. few hours travel it cannot escape from second volley of missiles from airpower.

    The whole of Damascus and Homs are heavily defended, probably the most heavily defended locations in the whole Middle East as regards air defence.

    This is on paper myth of Damascus/Homs heavily defended. for proper airdefence with tall and big radars with proper electric/fuel supply. you need 30 to 40km of safe area around it. just look at it in Latakia. Untill recently insurgents could easily shell mortors into Russian embassy. now they may have slightly upgraded the airdefence as areas are cleaned up but it is still fundamentally 1980s tech at best and completely lack density.

    So 3 targets got hit with many many missiles and other targets somehow blocked every missile.

    Those 3 buildings mostly like empty as no secondory explosions or chemicals or any humans there. so they may not even be defended fully .

    Hmm… If this were really the case, it would render all AShMs obsolete, since a destroyer or missile cruiser and fleet are infinitely better protected and have a clearer line of sight than any of Syria’s land targets.

    Air launched Ashms are far smaller in size and fly too low on sea surface as there is no natural barriers. while on ground you have mounatain, high electric poles, trees, high rise buildings that make the larger size cruise missiles fly higher so easy to track from distance. plus ground based AWACS, fighters are far larger in size to provide situational awareness to incoming missiles. infact putting 300 to 400 people in frigate size ship against fighters or bomber with maximum two pilots is uneven contest.

    At the end of the day 3 targets targeted, 3 targets rubble. Objective achieved.

    it started with 22 targets, than 8 and finally 3. you only declare what is hit.

    why would Russia cooperate on FC-31 or for that matter any Naval fighter. FC-31/J-20 are old boxy designs from 1980s that will have far shorter range and slower sustain speeds, acceleration and lower atltitude than Su-57.

    The word long range is now used with Tu-22M3M. and the upgrade after that will called super long range. this gives you flexibility of loading bombers from nearest place to the factory in most efficient way for round clock operations.

    J-20 will be the premier fighter for the PLAAF. It will be supported by J-10C (maybe a future J-10D/J-10X) and J-16 variants. Even now J-20, J-16, J-10C all train together. It seems they have some kind of connectivity. Only place the PAK-FA might (stressing the ‘might’) have room is if there is a major short fall in numbers of advanced fighters in the PLAAF. The older flankers are not so competitive (J-11/11A/11B, Su-30MKK) compared to F/A-18E/F, Su-30MKI, etc. Only the J-16 and Su-35 are top off the line, but they could simply produce more J-16 and purchase further upgraded Su-35. Think about it, it will not be meaningful to have 2 different heavy 5th gen fighters in the PLAAF.

    you don’t need advance radar in every aircraft. only self protection suite and netcentric capability. not even Sweden use advance radar in Gripen with Meteor.

    based on specification. F-15J does not seem to be right choice especially that will spent 50 years with no engine power or fuel system increase.

    It is not just energy prices but Germanic business operating from China that is increasing industrial efficiency. China can now produce more than 30m vehicles per year based on Germanic tech. now imagine the quantity of missiles they have.

    It’s top speed is mach 1.8 and it is medium altitude plane. highly doubtful that it can pass even mach 1 with tanks for any amount of time.
