Norway’s Foreign Pension fond has something called: Etic councel, which have to approve any investment in foreign military products. We have very strict guidlines. The same goes for Tobaco and alcohole, certain pharma drugs etc etc.
I’m actual proud we do this, we have pulled out of several large investment partners like in Israel defence industry etc etc.

I’ve been to Russia several times, and have some friends there. I find the Russian people very kind friendly.
I find Russia to be a very beautyfull country. I’m planning to go on Elbrus trecking sometime 🙂 , i’e been in several major citys and through North Caukasus.

The one i have a problem with is Putin and his staff.
I read a recent report that Putin has hidden away some 400 Billion NOK in different tax paradice bank systems.
The Corruption in Russia is so transparent and devestating for your own Economy and future prospect.

you should worry about corruption in Norway as your soverign wealth funds are invested outside Norway. and there is very little investment in military and science. country is completely un competitive.
Putin money is very near to him that’s why he can afford to spend hundreds of billions on military buildup until 2020 and further beyond that. and in post 2020 period air defences will become strong enough that ICBMs can be defeated. with such military power Norway energy industry will come under microscope.

They weren’t Russian weapons. They were Soviet weapons, designed & built by establishments scattered across the USSR, employing Soviet citizens from most or all republics & many ethnicities, & paid for by the whole union.

They were Russian weopons in sense as they were developed with natural resource & centralized scientific base located in Russia. It goes all the way to fueling nuclear reactors for electricity production. building pipelines for Ukraine that are on rent. you cant imagine if those Pipelines were not present in 1991. Just look at who developed the composite and material technology for An-124.

The Lanzhou enrichment plant started in 1964 for military use and operated commercially between 1980 and 1997 using Soviet-era diffusion technology. A Russian centrifuge plant of 500,000 SWU* per year started operation there in 2001.

An enrichment plant using Russian centrifuges was also set up at Hanzhun in Shaanxi province under agreements between Russia and China Nuclear Energy Industry Corporation (CNEIC). Frankly, I would like to see both side lose. Both Ukraine and Russia are Thugocracies. The leaders’ primary purpose is to consolidate power. Helping the Ukranian and Russian peoples lead better lives is last priority of their list of things to do.

Cute, but in the long run Russia needs India to help fund its projects more than India needs Russia for JV and ToT.

your long run forecasts are always wrong. look at Brazil and Rafale. India needs Russia far more than Russia needs India. Brahmos is not a JV but Russia giving 1980s tech at low licensing cost. I highly doubt any Western Aviation or missile product can be given so cheap for license.
live with this 21st century reality. Only resource rich and less susceptible to global warming nations will always be in driving seat.
