who use radar jamming in exercises?. rather the ancient radars of F-15C could not see the ram painted MIG-21 at sufficient distance.
Lol, we have been hearing this for years now. India and China will make Russian exports fall! Yet they record new records almost every year. No need to worry about Russian arms exports Deino.
Also, forget Iraq? They are carrying out a 4 billion dollar contract, and just signed another 1.6 billion one. How is that not legitimate?
No income?!?! Oh boy. Also I am curious as to your insider knowlege on current large Russian UAV projects.
There are additional $1b worth of weopons/support involved with the original $4.3b contract. there was $256m for MI-35m original order. than there is $500m Su-25 contract. contracts with Iraq are already over $6b by this time. with fast delivery. these billions will keep flowing.
Then please tell this the Ukrainians after Russia annected the Crimea, tell this the Iraqi people, which are now not only loosing a covernbment but most likely even a national entity, tell this so many other countries and peoples who were effected by political changes … and not only by the fall and rise of oil and gold prices. Wake up and see what happens in the world.
what has these thing to do any impact on procurement policies for Ruaf. infact Crimea situation has accelerated investment in defence industries to much higher production level with more sophisticated equipment. this technical requipment is benefiting countries like Italy etc.

Irak will have more money for Russia products since less population will be producing more of Oil
Sorry, my question was where I was overoptimistic in this tread; I did not even mention anything related from CHina; and You gave no reply other than a false generalisation … and even in other treads I’m not sure why the posting of images – and that’s what I do most here – is too overoptimistic !??
because you started that I am optimistic when infact I gave realist estimate. it your own track record of being overoptimistic in Chinese thread that is unfullfillied.
Again … where in any case was the “military might of the supplier nation” is the important factor. If this would be the case all sales would be won by the US … given the “military might of the supplier nation” especially in comparison to the RuAF.
why would all sales win by US?. it has greater percentage in Middleast with countries like Saudia/Israel/Egypt but later two are just free give away. and Russia has self imposed ban to Iran. that is likely to change in coming years. similar case is with East Asia like Japan/Korea but than again if North Korea built Russia gas pipeline link to South Korea. you will see NK airforce equipped with Russia fighters.
I don’t put that much stock on Vietnam/Malaysia/Indonesia/Burma.
irrelevant, since they are not including the latest political developments … the world has changed a lot my friend during the last few weeks; SADLY.
world has changed in few weeks?. the only thing changed is rise of Oil and Gold price.
Where did I give any prediction in the last posts ??? None … otherwise please teach me.
your always present to Chinese related threads and your opinions are way optimistic even for failed projects like ARJ-21/C919/L-15. or copied/license help projects like J-10/J-11/J-16 etc. there are countless examples.
First of all that was never the case and will never be the case. Why should any country byuy Russian arms only since it is flying in RuAF coulours !! Another joke to say so. As such it seems Your beliefs are simply led by misconceptions, since arms sales are – if not politically motivated – in all cases a compromise between cost and performance driven in the requirements …. and here Russian products (at least aiurcraft) don’t sell well at least by Your conception. By the way “credibility is surely not a typical Russian attribut !!! … just ask the Indians about the opinion in this regard to aircraft carriers, prices, A-50I AEW, Mig-29, ….. and even more credibility is also very important to be taken seroiusly in such forums. :dev2:
But please let us end this funny talk. If You like keep Your beliefs that all countries will buy Russian producs as once they will see “gaint bombers/PAK-FA supported by Airrefullers/AWACs flying around in Ruaf colors”, what I highly doubt.
Have a nice day-dream,
Deino
there are some countries like India or Brazil that take into consideration cost of weopons or some technology transfer. but for countries in Middleast/Northafrica/Latin America/Central Asia or even East Asia. it is the military might of the supplier nation that ultimately decide procurement policies. so the reach and strength of Ruaf is very important for export products.
how you know what is big and what is small. I gave predictions based on hard currency potential.
You are the one giving optimistic predictions about Chinese aerospace industry and giving contradictory opinion to widely believed narrative in the world that most Chinese systems are either copy or license. that’s why its your China. mine is always objective opinion.
Again you have a lot of misconception about arms market. When these countries see that gaint bombers/PAK-FA supported by Airrefullers/AWACs flying around in Ruaf colors. it give those government assurance to buy other weopons from Russia.
credibility is very important in export market.
MBDA share holders benefit from such arrangement. which may not be US based at all. so there is no point in buying anything from them through state funds. It is not some private money splurging on MB car.
PAK-DA has reasonable chance of rollout and first prototype flying by 2020. bombers does not need those high Gs and high speed of fighters. so putting into production is much quicker and by than robotic/supercomputer technologies will be advanced enough to do things quickly.
same is case of 20ton and 5 ton UCAVs for heavy and light strike role.
just one firm from Russia is investing $30b in Iraq so it is presumed that Iraq will become big market for Russia defence products.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/06/26/lukoil-iraq-idUSL6N0P72D520140626
than will come Iran market that will open up and Russia will have surplus production production/licenses to sell to them. It is reasonable prediction that Iran/Iraq airforces will reach the size of Saudi/UAE in quantity and sophistication.
Kazakhistan/Algeria/Turkeminstan are upcoming markets that will have a lot of hard currency.
At the end will be your truly China. by that time Chinese airforce will find out that Chinese industries promises are just mirage and most of there products are simply uncompetitive and lack sophisitcation. how is your Y-20 coming along?. this is just one example.
They already making the engines. it was some components that came from Ukraine which is replaced. it is very safe bet that Yak-130 production is not impacted.
http://www.salut.ru/ViewTopic.php?Id=665
The point of Ukraine was selling cheap to China because Russia artificially subsidizing there energy prices for Ukraine eastern industries and procuring components that were lowering costs of production in Ukraine. now energy prices has gone up. procurement has stopped, IMF austerity imposed. China has no choice but more depended on Russia.
Russian cities are where industrial production going are less congested/polluted than China. salaries are multiple high relative to taxes. there is limited likelihood of China benefiting from those specilists.
I did not say made in EU in manufacturing literally. but LM will have to buy those technologies/experience from MBDA.
when Europe defence budgets are shrinking and its procurement of American weopons are going down. There is zero percent chance that any US lawmakers will give funding to anything that has made in EU. so Boeing/Raytheon automatically wins.
your only giving prediction until 2020. 2020 is just finishing of industrial modernization. It is the after 2020 period when PAK-DA/PAK-FA/UCAV/MIG-31 replacement will start producing numbers.
AI-222 is now Russian product. you should worry about Chinese imports from Ukraine as Russia has stopped buying Ukrainian products , specilists are leaving, energy prices has raised, production is going down to nil.
http://aviationweek.com/farnborough-2014/us-returns-farnborough-air-show-russia-retreats
However, another important Rostec aerospace asset—United Engines Corp. (UEC) confirmed it would be bringing a viable AI-222-25 turbojet engine that powers Yakovlev Yak-130 jet trainers. This engine was initially a joint project between Russian MMPP Salut and Ukraine’s Motor Sich companies. But following the government’s import substitution strategy the UEC is now ready to produce this powerplant without Ukrainian participation, according to a source in Russian industry
95% of replacement is already announced and it is on schedule. it is not the number that I created. and economy is in upswing as far as investments in defence sectors going. I already explained. GDP is not correct measure.
http://www.turkishweekly.net/news/168354/russia-to-substitute-95-of-ukrainian-defense-imports.html
This very realistic target when you measure the economic output in correct way not the GDP figure which has a lot of consumption/debt/inflation that masks the industrial investments.
Industrial investment comes from either private investment (that India is trying now with defence sector FDI) or Government hard currency. hard currency comes from exportable surplus so you can buy expensive industrial machines/ hire best worldwide labor that can lift real productivity inside not through outsourcing.

I have been saying for a few years now that LM MFC should team up with MBDA and develop a missile around the Meteor for the US services. Lockheed did not get any contract work (that we know of) in the DARPA lead T-3 program where 2 new missiles were test fired (at least one was ramjet) so a partnership with MBDA would be a very effective way for them to compete with in house R&D. Having a tested missile as a base and using that as launching point to meet US DOD requirements seems to be a very good idea.
team up with MBDA?. There is zero benefit of investing in it. this cooperation will be will be harder if Republican win next election.
