Subsonic wise, F-35 accelerate better than F-16 and Su-27/35
Supersonic wise,I dont think any others aircraft accelerate better than F-15, despite its appearance
F15 is the most inefficient design. It need external fuel tanks even with CFT for operational missions. (Look at decisive storm where F15 is numerous quantity), it’s not flexible for upgraded engines. There is no aerodynamic ew wingtip pods.
The best Finland in any situation can do is to give Russia a bloody nose in a fight. Hoping its a costly fight for the other side. Loose more planes then you thought.
Money also is a consideration.
If I was Russia I would want F-35s based near my border with a neutral country that has no intention of attacking them. What a great way to get Su-35 and Pak-fa radars onto them from distance in Russia and see how stealthy the F-35 really is. Build up a computer imaging and data base of the planes. Invite a competition against the F-35s, friendly of coarse.
You will never be able to give bloody nose with F-35 infact the cost of F-35 and its basing at one place will make it much easier target for pre-emptive strikes with improvement in satellite survellence.A country does not need to invade to impose its will with next generation weopons both in quality and quantity. robots in operations and production of weopons will produce higher quantity that will over helm defenses. Finland simply cant catch up in training and procurement.

The military industry chief said that by 2020, Russia’s military will be equipped with weapons allowing for “no-contact warfare.”
Syrian operation is boosting Russia way of fighting wars. potentially it can get back to Libya oil and arms market.
http://www.libyaobserver.ly/news/russian-experts-are-supporting-haftar%E2%80%99s-forces-egyptian-emirati-assistance
It also reported Libyan reliable sources as saying that the Russian experts had arrived in the areas where Haftar’s forces are in control.“There are tens of them and they are specialized in different war-related fields.” The New Arab added, saying that those were the first group out of other ones as per an agreement between Haftar and Russian officials.
Military deals are on the table between Tobruk camp and Russia and they are worth 4 billion dinars.” The New Arab stated, concluding that other military groups specialized in training will also arrive in the east.
While the whining about black smoke and oceanic tug were just some gratuitous trolling, we are now into an A grade embarassment.
Kutnetsov was send to acquire combat experience and to provide additional firepower in the form of an additional air base to the just overcrowded Latakia one, probably the idea was to keep it there until a new airstrip and shelter construction would be complete.
Now, saying it will still be able to operate helicopter is pointless, as they could be operated with much more efficacy and with a way lesser footprint than fighters planes from a land base near to combat fronts.
Russians have now learned in the harshest possible way (and we with them) how in carrier based operation, experience and individuation of correct practises cannot be learned along the way.
Let’s hope those problem would be addressed in the near future or the same existence of russian carriers would be put in jeopardy.
airbase is not overcrowded at all. infact sortie rate is very low compared to early year. its only with high sortie rate that it will be consider crowded that’s why all the planes are just parked there. and this issue has has nothing to do with carrier operation or airplane. think over it what got broken and why It will brake. It did not happen to refurbish carrier Viki. so all your statements are invalid.
Quoting Sputnik News? Seriously?
sputnik so? seriously?. information is such vast arena that not one information house can reliably make it accurate all the time.
it is the same new items other sites also.
http://www.businessinsider.com/putin-highlighted-russian-advanced-weapons-2016-11
Finland is now uncompetivite state that if it try to spend money on defence it will lose advantages of whats left in other areas.
There is a reference in the same Jane’s report that the MiG-29Ks were also seen at the Syrian airbase. Not looking good for the Admiral Kuznetsov.
http://www.janes.com/article/65775/russian-carrier-jets-flying-from-syria-not-kuznetsov
Atleast the jets are not returned. they still getting flight training. we have to see how fast they can repair it.
Both Y. Gordon (“Famous Russian Aircraft – Sukhoi 27”) and P. Butowski (aviation journals articles) give Su-27SM 120 km detection range for a boat and 350 km for an aircraft carrier.
you are not understanding what I am writing to Mspsher. I said what radar in 2004 outperform Su-27SM? real specification not some theory.
the pictures will give you clue that no change in aerodynamics despite increase in internal fuel capacity.
the length of flame shows very strong thrust.

They probably used valyrian steel and mithril…
and seriously, RD-33 started as a give-it-all-and-die-quickly engine, with very short longevity. It was already a great achievement that they’ve managed to improve longevity so greatly in series 3, without downgrading the performance. The RD-33MK offers 9000 kG in comparison to 8300 kG of RD-33 (series 3 included) so this is, most probably, this significant thrust increase we are talking about, as all MiG-29s currently used by RuAF use the latter, less powerful engine (IIRC SMTs fly with series 3). The RD-33 for years have been underdeveloped in comparison to AL-31 mainly due to much higher interest in Su-27 than in MiG-29 platform, so it shouldn’t be surprising that improvements in thrust of AL-31 are comparatively bigger, as there were money to fund them. Also, looking on the history of AL-41F1 engine and its tests, we would be well aware if any significant modification to RD-33 were underway, as demonstrators would be already flying on testbeds for year or two.
RD-33 factory is now more busy as they buidlilng Klimov design helicopter engine and combined purchase of India MIG-29UPG/MIG-29K and JF-17 is now closer to 500 engines. that is on the top of all other engine upgrades and Ruaf MIG-29K engines.
In the case of the Su-27SM or Su-35S, we know the exact engine designation (Al-31FM1 or Izd.117S), we know the producer (Salyut for the FM1 and Saturn for the 117S) and we know their thrust figures, as well as we do know what changes have been incorporated (new HP stage, enlarged fan diameter for the 117S). And all these engines are offered for export, without exception.
In the case of your mythical “Russian-only” RD-33MK we have nothing. No designation, no details, no specs.. and I will tell you why.. because there is nothing…
even export variant of engine has wide thrust settings. the export RD-33 is upto 9000kg class. RD-33MK domestic will be in bigger thrust class categories.
http://klimov.ru/en/production/aircraft/RD-33-family/
FACTS
•The most mass-produced jet engine in its class
•Adopted by the military in 25 countries as a component of MiG-29 fighters
•Employed to power the unique super-maneuverable MiG-29OVT fighter
•Installed of various models of the MiG-29 fighter family
•Developed in 1985
•Thrust class – 8000-9000 kgf
RD-33MK is base model for further improvement and it was developed in 2001. its freaking 15 year old tech and Klimov removed the thrust figures from website.
http://klimov.ru/en/production/aircraft/RD-33MK/
The RD-33MK will be used as a base model for future improved jet fighter engines

That’s one single article from 2004 which has no support in any other sources. Utter BS or a mistake, in my opinion. It should have been 250km..
small boat at 250km in 2004? . which other radar can match it?. as I said you haven’t provide any sources to contrary that’s why your debates are worthless.
Right.. So show me those facts of yours, what is the thrust of the “export” RD-33MK, “Russian” RD-33MK and what are the construction changes having been done to achieve that thrust increase?
It is based on solid fact of Ruaf procurement. Just look at Su-27SM/Su-35/Su-34. they all have either stronger engines, payload, weopon systems (R-77-1) or radar than export models. They wont accept MIG-35 that will outperform export fighter.
I have already shown you radar specification of Su-27SM against ships and small boats from 2004. the burden of proof is on you to show that export models outperform it in 2004.
you really thing that only small thrust increase of 200kg can make a significant step.
http://www.wingsjournal.com/first-models-mig-35-will-come-factory-fall
“The MiG-35 is a completely other aircraft compared to the MiG-29, not a mere modification. This is a significant step forward,”said Zhuchkov.
Compared to MiG-29 in MiG-35 have been changed many internal units and placed more powerful engines, which are located relatively far apart. On request of the buyer can be mounted engines with variable vector thrust.
why should some one take seriously your know nothing opinion.

Su-27SM Undergoing Military Examination
Airmen of the Center of Combat Application and Cross Training of Air Crews (TsBP and PLS) are successfully mastering the upgraded Su-27SM fighters. “Right now we are conducting as a minimum two flight sessions a week, and in each of them two – three each Su-27SM of the five which were upgraded at the Komsomol’sk-on-Amur Aviation production Association (KnAAPO) take part,” the chief of the TsBP and PLS, General-Major Aleksandr Kharchevskiy, reported to Interfax-AVN on Monday. According to him, the upgraded fighters already have flown 14 – 15 hours each taking into account the haul from Komsomol’sk-on-Amur to Lipetsk. During the military usage, they fully have been confirming the advertised combat and tactical-technical characteristics.
“Our mission is to prepare in June 2004 an interim manual for the use of these fighters in the line units as a result of the military tests of the Su-27SM,” General-Major A> Kharchevskiy noted. Before the end of 2004, there will be a permanent manual for the usage and combat application of the upgraded Su-27SM. “By the end of this year, we are supposed to prepare a permanent manual taking into account the observations, that is, systematically to support fully the line aviation units in which these fighters will enter the inventory,” he said.
In the opinion of air force commander-in-chief, General of the Army Vladimir Mikhaylov, the upgraded Su-27SM approximates to the maximum a fifth generation airplane. It possesses high flight performance and the capabilities for the detection and destruction of targets. It is planned during the year to reequip one of the air force regiment with upgraded Su-27SM fighters. The Komsomol’sk-on-Amur Aviation Production Association is realizing the upgrade program for the Su-27 multirole fighters developed by the Sukhoy OKB. The whole fleet of Russia’s Su-27 air force fighters is subject to the upgrade. This work is going on within the framework of the state defense order, and also using non-budgetary funds which are earned and attracted from Sukhoy Aviation Holding Company export contracts.

it could detect small boat at 120km. that is best performance of any radar in 2004.

Russian Air Force receives first Su-27SM upgrade
NIKOLAI NOVICHKOV JDW Correspondent
Pilot operation has become more efficient due to the installation of new cockpit instrumentation and the enhanced accuracy of the sighting and navigation system. The onboard radar has a ground mapping capability with beam-sharpening mode and can detect land-based radar-reflecting targets at a distance of up to 100 km, large-sized waterborne targets at 350 km and small ones at 120 km.
the early bars radars don’t have that much range just like radar on MIG-31. Su-27SM started with stronger engine and I can bet they upgraded with better radars as Su-27SM3 was the first to test R-77-1. the public disclosures of test came out in 2011. it means they have been testing it much before that. they are clearly referring lacking 5G AAM to make Su-27SM competitive. it means they already have radar capability to deal with long range missiles early in 2005.
Coincidence??
Its more Syrian-Iranian thing than Ruaf. Iranian has now upgraded S300/Tor and Syrian airdefence network got upgraded. it give them more confidence to deal directly with Turkey.
Canada cant afford higher defense spending. its private debt is at record high. higher defense spending means more people taken out from productive labor force and much lower of currency value to buy imported weopons.
And that prove what ? where exactly it say Su-27SM has better range and combat radius than Su-35S ?
It tells alot of things if you know anything about Flankers .
And can you find anyone to vote for that statement ? Or better yes , can you find anyone that doesnot think you are a troll ?
yes there will be plenty.
