Doesn’t sound logical… Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Qatar and Saudis are Arabs, too. My personal impression is that this time it’s less about Israel and more about House of Saudis. Israel is only a secondary beneficiary from the whole situation.
If its not about Israel Russia is making sure it becomes about Israel. Israel is composed of majority Eastern EU and former Soviets and these countries are not accepting refugees. it is very prominently presented to Arab world. just follow RT Arabic. I am sure at some point Arab pressure on EU will create bigger collision course between East and West EU.
if private investment and tourism not restored in Turkey than Turkey alone can create 40 million people for EU. than there are millions in Africa that depended on collapsing economies of Middleast due to oil price and wars. the most loyal countries are boycotting each other.

Morocco boycotts Umrah trips until Saudi abolishes new fees
and Russia hasn’t even punched Ukraine yet.
We have plenty of engineering talent here, but it’s political difficult to justify spending much more than 2% of GDP on defence, whereas Russia spend about 4 times that %.
this 2% and 4% of very different GDP is complete joke. it does not tell what kind of education and technical system and industry turnover in military industrial complex. Plus strong decision making that keep vital industries in shape.
All imports eh? Ballocks.
It’s a two way thing, the strong £ has previously held up exports.
SIPRI numbers not correct. . Most western firms are strictly not defense firms now, a lot of double counting like BAE/LM/Boeing selling to each other components and services. they have too many side business. and very slow actual deliveries. look at Boeing and Saudi F-15 order. or BAE Saudi EF order. Almost a decade to fulfill.
No, people pay tuition fees to go to a foreign university for a laugh.
Unlike Soviets, it’s not built to keep people in.
the people who work in defence firms are generally not as free movers. I saw pics of Putin with Pogosyin in 1999 MAKS airshow.
Cobblers. Europe is a more important trading partner and Russian military is paid for with an every increasing share of GDP.
trading partner? that’s why US fines all the EU based banks and firms for billions. just the VW/BP fines will be worth $100b. and US does not allow Airbus sales without its permission as it has more than 10% US parts.
US has big competitive advantage with its utilization of Asian/Hispanic labor on much larger scale. Only Chinese can afford Buicks/GMs on larger scale than US.

48 so far. Not at all, the pound fall is merely a reflection of elitists crying, it will rise as soon as they realise their tears are doing no good and have zero impact.
the problem is you don’t have any ownership of industry that can take advantage of pound downfall. Its completely import based economics. the more Russia invest in defence the greater will be its high tech exports, investements and bigger the extraction contracts. the world operates on might is right principle.

In my perfect world they would have PAK-DA flying by 2020, started small serial production in 2024 and slowly replaced Tu-22M3’s with PAK-DA’s over the years til 2030 or so. Now instead they will basically be making Tu-160M2 and PAK-DA in parallel, at Kazan. How exactly they will manage that exactly is a mystery. Tu-160M2 isnt exactly cheap either and it is unclear what it will offer that PAK-DA won’t, other than the speed.
most likely they working on increasing payload and range for Tu-160. Tu-22 not upto the task and most likely PAK-DA will not offer this range/payload/speed combination. global war on terror need bunkerbusting bombs and hypersonic missiles. its inefficient to carry these stuff in transports or ships and all the loading and unloading at various ports.

Russian Defense Ministry to Order Some 50 New Tu-160M2 Advanced Bombers
Current work involves improving the plane’s technical specifications, especially its weight parameters, he added, noting that its serial production may start around 2020-2021.
No we just have people coming to our universities from all over the world for a laugh.
frankly that universities rankings are joke. they have no relationships with quality of products made.
You have a strange view of things. Last I heard they were building a wall anyway.
that wall hehe.
Relationship with the North American continent would be unaffected. They don’t like a lot of regimes in the South especially the idiot in Venezuela who’s managed to make a poor country with >300bn bbls of oil.
it wont make a difference when you look at underlying structure of economies and education system. Hispanic/Asian America weight will rise relative to Europe.
Europe will have to deal with next generation Russia military might.
Sure you can. Meteor is already in service with Sweden and is just 2 years away for France and the UK. F-35B will hit UK IOC in 2018 and begin carrier ops in 2020.
how many F-35 you actually signed contract. this pound fall is too big for imported weopons.
French has other reasons to be angry with Eastern Europeans . like not taking refugees from Middleast. this very fundamental to French gov.
There are shed-loads of engineers in the UK, that’s why it’s a very poorly paid field relative to engineering in Germany.
I doubt they are poorly paid relative to Eastern EU or Asia and I they are not even trained to built modern military products and managing government contracts.
I’m sure the US would be more than happy to provide more. Then we have the UK-built Storm Shadow too.
the more Hispanic population increase the faster US will kickout EU from southern hemisphere. You can see that in Syria talks where EU is not allowed when US-Russia negotiate. storm-shadow does not have the range and warhead for deep strikes. Just look at Syria example Klibr missiles has to go through zigzag path through several countries.
Yeah right. Right now, Argentina is only likely squabble we have where we’d have to go it alone and even there we have a defence agreement with the French.
yeah French. provided they want to suffer there relationship with a whole North-South American continent.
And if they made a SAM capable of reaching that far, then they’d use an AShM with longer range, so it’s a no-win situation. The idea for SAMs is to intercept the missile not the aircraft. For intercepting the aircraft, we’ll use stealth fighters and Meteors.
it seem you have no understanding. you cannot possibly hit cruise missile at 120km range and that range is not suitable against fighters. so practical worth of T-45 is nearly zero. your so called stealth fighter and Metero is decade down the line. let see what new missile tech and space radar develops by that time.
it says India sign S400. now they can retire all single engine fighters and make all airforce twin engine.

Not as fast as the Ruble. And actually the £ is still struggling to reach the depths of the value it was at 8 years ago against the Euro. And most of the slide is based on fears, rather than reality.
Russian Military-Industrial complex is trying to achieve 100% indigenous capability all the way from raw materials. Russia produce more technical people from its education system and less lawyers/bankers/Social sciences. Just daily gas retail prices are 1/3 of UK.
Yeah, that one off issue has been fixed, let’s not talk about all the Russian ships which have broken down hey. Land attack capability, I think the F-35s will manage that fine but additionally SSNs have Tomahawks and Type 26s will also be equipped with them.
You only bring paper capability. you don’t make Tomhawks. once magazine is empty. you cant sustain for second round even against the smallest conflict.
When you consider that the very best enemy we’ll likely have to fight on our own is Argentina, I think we’ll manage. Managed with much less last time.
Argentina is no body in military fight. Once Middleast figure out that you are weaker than they think. the investments will flee.
Aster range – You’ll never out-range a cruise missile with a SAM, so going after really big ranges is kind of pointless, but Aster 30 manages 120+km and probably a little conservative with that range figure given the size of the booster.
it is not sufficient against Fighters as they can release antiship missile even the smaller one outside that range in saturated attack. the missile cant provide area defence. this missile system belong to small corvettes for dealing with missiles not to a big destroyer dealing with fighters.
Tu-160M2 much better to replace Tu-22. PAKDA can wait .
Your 80 F-35 still on paper . Pound is going down fast. The 6 destroyer could not operate in Middleast.i doubt there is long range version of Aster. The Navy has very little land attack ability.
I know some idiots in the West have suggested creating a NFZ over certain areas in Syria but they’ve been roundly told to shut up and stop being stupid by the more sensible people who realise the consequences.
West cant create no fly zone the way Russia can create no fly zones in Middleast/EU. its the tools and dependencies available for escalating dominance that are different.
If Germany was a usefull military power. that question of ‘worries’ will not be raised.

You live in an alternative reality. Show me this announcement.
see the confirmation. this no fly zone give Russian confidence to also give corridor to Turks to operate as they have greater confidence in new systems incase Turks make any mischief beyond there agreements.
https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2015-10-02/putin-has-his-own-no-fly-zone-in-Syria
and the role reversal. Turks saw how fast Russia implemented Iranian contract.

ANKARA—Three years after disqualifying a Russian bidder for being too expensive, Turkey invited the same contender into the same contract for the acquisition of the country’s first long-range air and anti-missile defense system
Yes that was announcement that operators will have no time to differentiate so better not even go near where SAA operates. as I said when nutinyahoo goes quiet the rest will follow.
Right so how come, they were bitching about them getting hit by an airstrike only a few days ago?
After that event no fly zone is activated.
