What would the J-10 and FC-1 have to offer compared to the F-16Cs already in Turkish service?
The design of J10 look like EF. so at least better high altitude performance and range. There could be other upgrades like AESA and IRST . China also has own satellite network so can find things for long range strike .

I would find that quite OK given the size of the US economy and the overall defense spending levels. Nations around the world are buying $100 Million 4+ generation aircraft and none of them have any sort of defense spending levels as the US. Even looking at the PAKFA as an example, if and when the Russians begin to produce it at a decent rate, do you think at say $70 Million a pop, it is as affordable to them as the F-35A is to the USAF at $80 Million URF?
why would PAKFA cost $70m?. The truck driver salary in US is 10 times now compared to Russia and all that F-35 related factories are in hot Texas or overseas transport of parts. I will let you figure out the energy cost and wear tear due to heat and all the maintaince that motors need. but Russia priority is now change to 6G fighter longe range high speed and stealthy weopons and bombers. 5G is too incremental upgrade compared to 4+++.
People seem to forget just how difficult it is to re-initiate production of a jet engine, especially a beast such as the NK-32. It would be like asking GE to restart production of the J75 or RR to resume Olympus production – it would barely be possible, and even if it was it would be hideously expensive. I have read though, that the new NK-32-2s are undergoing bench tests at the moment, but I have also read that the new production of the NK-32 is turning out to be difficult because many of the components were originally in Soviet times produced in Ukraine and Azerbaijan, a political problem today.

you seem to forget Russia is not Germany. pay attention to diversified complex scientific potential. there are a lot of other examples like digitally creating IL-476 and putting the largest AESA antenna on it along with big wingtip pods. or even engines for Yak-130.

how is F-22 designed to operate at higher altitude and speed when it is not carrying more fuel than F-35 and F-22 TWR is not much better. it will need a lot of fuel in takeoff. the days of tanker of support are practically over that’s why long range hypersonic weopons are introduced for precision strike on ground.
if they buy S400 and there economic system is changing . I don’t see how they can afford F35. infact F35 will get more expensive over time for Europe.

Did MIG-35 numbers got updated on website?. It has 50% more range than MIG-29S. 80% more payload with bigger cockpit and higher performance.
I don’t think Turkey can afford F-35. when Turkey out of F-35. it will make F-35 expensive for others.
