Updates from jethros
Dan – RE Manchy – agreed – its the best in the UK for what it has to offer – Viewing, variety, and access.
But personally Lanzarote Arrecife. Ok yes i was there last week BUT this is based on a couple of visits
It has the best Approach overflight paths (over ya head terms!), second only to Princes Juiliana – i was the only person not to move out of the way for the low flying Iberia B752 and Britannia B763 – Awesome.
Variety – charter airlines from every part of europe. I noted British, French, German, Italian, Swiss, Polish, Czech, Swedish, Dutch and Dansih reggies during my visits. Excellent photography, a walkway all the way along the side of the only runway 03/21 – and a great climate to watch it all go on with!
the CRJ-200 dilemma is rather interesting if they take the -700/900 on board. I remember then going balisitic with BAe when they took on board some ex Thai 146-300 a/c. The pilots couldn’t familiarise themselves with the differant layout/systems/spec on the a/c so they ended up been traded in for differant -300s. Its amazing how supposidly identical models can have such differances in operational capabilities
Saw OZBE or F – can’t remem without consulting the log at FL370 last october – brilliant with the contrails – heading to TFS
i went down late on the SUnday and got several of the Air Berlin/Condor/Aero Lloyd fleets that i needed – its partly luck i suppose!
Nm – at least the Champions League final will now have some even more interesting visitors now MUFC are out – thats roughly twice as much tfc! 😉
just a thought – wasn’t sure of the range, cheers
ETOPS! – “4 Engines 4 long haul” as virgin would say!
yea they certainly have a varied past! out of the MYT fleet i’ve flown on: –
A320 – G-SUEE (LBA-PMI-LBA) 1997
A321 – G-JSJX (MAN-LPA-MAN) 1999
B752 – G-JALC (MAN-HER) 2001
B752 – G-PIDS (LBA-LBA) 2001
DC-10 – G-TDTW (HER-MAN) 2001
just a thought – if for example Concorde did do London-Sydney, would it be able to fly it with just the one stop in for example Singapore, or would it need 2 stops to do the journey?
And also on the long haul theory, Singapore had a trial with G-BOAC and they ditched the idea of the a/c on long haul as it wasn’t economic enough
Hiya carl. They have a new A320 with an irish reggie at Manchester – saw it the other week. From previous experiance it seems to spend a lot of time sitting about, so theres a fair chance you could be flying on her!

M 500, which one are you mate?
And what plane is that? by the looks of it it’s a 737 coming into Melbourne or Adelaide.
i’d have a guess at an emerates B773 coming into Perth on 3 accounts: –
1. he flies for emerates
2. he flies B773
3. His family still live in Perth (i think it was perth anyway)
Now its time for me to get shot to pieces for getting it all wrong and trying to be a smart alic!
