What was the occasion Ren with the Reds there?
I believe you can just buy tickets on the gate.
EGNM, what was your opinion of the Dash Eight? Was it noisy or uncomfortable? How spacious was the interior?
I enjoyed the Dash 8 – the Q400 was quite roomy, and certainly in my opinion a much more pleasent and comfortable cabin than the E145. The noise levels as with all turboprops are higher than jets, but certainly less than the likes of the ATP.
Nice stuff, the NA livery always reminds me of the Caledonian livery before they were absorbed into the JMC Group.

B2 Uprated powerplants. The increased performance of this engine means a higher payload can be carried compared to the B1 varients,. and as such can operate to TFS, LPA, LCA etc – indeed we have had B733s operate these routes before in the mid 1990s.
As for having the aircraft painted in your colours doesn’t mean they will fly soley for you. The charterer (flybe in this case) does not pay for your positioning costs of aircraft and Astreaus will do what is most commercially viable to them.
I suspect the deal with the painting of the B733s was a 50/50 venture, the costs split. AEU neded to repaint STRB after its Air Asia winter lease, and FlyBe like the idea of punters seeing shiny Jets
I’m in Nancy right now and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for where to stay in Paris. I’m actually studying abroad in Nancy, so I won’t be arriving until Friday night.
So out of curiosity, what do you you all think of these (found on hotels.com):
1) Kyriad le Bourget
2) Kyriad Prestige Roissy Cdg
3) Kyriad La VilletteI’m mainly interested in getting to a metro station easily… I’d prefer a clean, orderly hotel, but am open to suggestions. A friend suggested Kyriad from prior experiences; hence the Kyriad list above.
Kyriad LBG I have stayed at – it’s tidy, but its right at the top end of the airfield and its a fair way to get to any shops or anything – Its probably the best option if your only there for a couple of nights – plus it looks out right over the airfield Metro is about half hours walk or 15 euro in a taxi.
Kyriad CDG is about 5mins from the airport with a free shuttle bus to/from the airport and metro. From CDG you can bus it to LBG for less than a fiver return. I haven’t stayed there but know people who have used it when everywhere is full and they say its ok. The village is only a couple of mins walk away for restaurants etc.
Nice shots, the Do328 always looks a bit odd.
I can only see a Do228?
Great stuff, there was one of them Convairs of Conair kicking around helping the Securite Civile out in Marseilles last summer.
A great little aircraft? They are sleek to look at, but the seating is tight and there certainly isn’t much room in the cabin! Tryu and get bumped into seat 1A if you can – thats the best one!
Some great shots there – perhaps I ought to take a digicam into work some time…
Has the museum got a viewing area of the Airfield so you can see arrivals on the week running upto the Airshow.
Ta for any help
you can see most of the taxiways over the small fence from the museum (which is part of the old main apron), but it is a fair way from the runways and the runways are obscured by buildings.
Didn’t we see another Delta B738 in the same state not so long back?
It always amazes me how small runways look head on!
Great variety – you’d be hard pushed to find an airport with both 727s and L1011s in the UK!
Nice to see a differant set of colours!
