Great snaps – the DC-3 is one on my list of types to travel on!
As of present no 747s are due to op from LPL. Several A330s and A300s are planned, but the B747s are operating from Manchester (where they are based). I think theres 58 flights from the NW in total.
I shall indeed be off to Liverpool at some ungodly hour of Wednesday morning, Tom.
Grey, what “ungodly hour” on Weds will you be at the Pool?
Ste
Hi Dan,
on my last visit to STN TF-JXB was operating to and from KEF – then it was still operating in full JetX c/s, looks like those stickers aren’t gonna be lasting long!
Cracking shots bud!
A very good niche market is to be cornered here – not many A300/310/MD11/DC10s left for conversion – in 5 years or so the likes of DHL, FEDEX, UPS et al may be swarming around these!
Will be interesting to see if an A330-200 conversion is offered.
Gents,
for all those who are attending I require some info.
Given you are all arriving at differant times on the Sat may I request something…
Sat I will prob have to come back to the UK (washing etc!) on a flight at 1445l. Many of you dont arrive until around 9-11ish, would a “mound meet” for Sat logging and Graphing at CDG be an idea, then you have Sunday at the show. I can attend the show any day through the week, but I would like to be part of the meet.
Bonus’s.
1. A day at CDG.
2. Everyone gets a full day at the show, including many of the departing aircraft (last day) due flight times.
3. French public I believe will be more in force at show on the Sat – so we miss most of them
4. Enough time for me to go home on the Sat and get sorted before returning on the Monday?
Ideas forward please, I need to get my company travel booked!
Thanks
And the Airports view – from the website…
At 12.43 local time a Jordanian registered Airbus A320 LTE from Fuertaventura landed at Leeds Bradford International Airport.
The aircraft experienced difficulties on landing and came to rest at the end of the runway.
Of the 171 passengers and 7 crew on board there were no injuries.
The incident was attended immediately by the Airport’s Rescue and Fire Fighting Services supported by the local emergency services.
The passengers and crew were disembarked using aircraft steps and coached back to the terminal building. Passengers are now making their way home.
The airport resumed flying operations at 14.15.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) will be investigating this incident. We will not be able to remove the aircraft from its current position until the AAIB have given their authority to do so.
The Airport is unable to comment on any aspects of the technical operation of the aircraft, which is the subject of the AAIB investigation.
There has been some interruption to services at LBIA it is hoped that full operations will be resumed as soon as possible.

… not forgetting the Citationjet that ran off in 2003!
Ah, cheers for that. I’ll check it out.
Something in me wants it to be a BA livery though

LOL – your money! Some people have no imagination! 😀
Would probably be cheaper to fly GLA-LPL on FlyBes Dash 8-Q400 then LPL-IOM return on Emeralds ATPs on a day trip – 2 types, 4 flights! Thats once the flybes go 2x daily next month!
I gather that the number of Beluga movements through Chester is about to increase quite a bit – Rolls Royce will shortly start sending their engines and other engine accessories to Toulouse on Belugas from Chester, rather than using road and/or air from EMA.

I saw F-GTSC in today and I think it was SE or SF that was due in later – only took a passing glimpse at the AMOS!
Its amazing what a coat of paint can do to the eye! She’ll be a well photoed aircraft once she’s visited the paintshop!
Incidentally just looked through some old books and found I flew her back in 2000!
Its always great to fall lucky, i’ve had it once or twice, the best was a couple of years back when i turned upto Man when BHX and EMA were having probs, and Brize had been shut the night before – it was heaving!
Great piccys – nice to see sumwhere differant to the usual suspects again!
