yes they may be offered reloaction – the LBA cabin crews have been offered BHX or STN as bases – not quite so simple mate!
great stuff! I’m thinking about possably having a trip up on Monday if anybody fancies it?
hows about…
yep – i sense a lot more spanish carriers in to cover for MYT – btw BAL aren’t starting a base in the winter – just re-opening one – it shut two years ago for the winter.
Well it is a huge capacity cut then if its just the one SSV A320 based – unless they fancy put 2 machines in for a few days of the week i suspect we may see a lot of Subbing – 45 seats a sector lost – so if they flew 3x Palmas in a B752, that equats to roughlt 4x A320 flights to acheieve the same demand – but then again the LCCs such as Jet2 at LBA and bmibaby may have taken a big passenger cut from MYT.
Pembo it does look bad fromthe outset, but what makes more sense for the company?
Fingers crossed that in a couple of years when things start to look better things may change, and MYT may return there commitment to such outstations. However on the Leeds front it has to be said that some days the aircraft did only do 1 trip to the caneries.
Sad news
… and perhaps they could summer lease aircraft to TCX…

I hope to be able to fly them regularly for many years to come. So, I won’t be seeing any of you onboard then?
You’ll certainly keep seeing me onboard them! Can’t argue on ditto with their fares!!! I’m managing to get a lot of day trips and short breaks with LCCs around europe and i have not yet had a problem (touch wood!), with any of them!
Yep swiss does seem to be quite muddled up carrier at present – hopefully they will get things sorted!

actually, Im wondering if the jetmagic planes aren’t amongst that group of ERJs…
apparently the reasoning behind selling the ERJs isn’t so much that they’re bad airplanes. It’s more to do with the fact that SWISS need money and downsizing. For the new(ish) ERJs, they can get a fairly good amount of money…the only other regionals that they have, the Saab 2000s and ARJs would bring them far less money…
I know exactly what you mean, but if Swiss had say 9 aircraft to place there wont be too many companies that would want to lease all 9 at once – therefore if you could get a short term lease on a couple then this would bring in at least a litle income rather than having x amount of aircraft parked up – after all aircraft dont make money sat on the ground!
oh well bemused – there always another thread to argue on 😉 – however much people like myself on the ground (even those who work in the industry think we know) the crew are the people up there flying!
Most of us here want to get there one day, but if you read the whole thread through we can see how those in command of the aircraft we anoraks fly in day in day out know what they are doing – exactly what Spotty M and Moondance have shown in this thread!!!
hi Mark,
yep i know what you mean with the RJ100s – its just for my UK fleets anything that you can buy published is usually out of date by the time it reasches the shelves of the shops so i print the pages off of Jethros where they are combined as the BA 146 fleet pages. Unfortunatly i still need a fair few of the newer RJ100s of the BRT fleet 🙁
Also just seemed a bit confused by you first statement of the weather today – this was Thursdays not todays for ya!
as with all the commnts above – looking good so far – keep up the good work!
i’m sure that will nowe be increase to 9 as the Jetmagic 145s were on lease from Swiss/Crossair/whatever there name is this week!!
However much i like winding up the scousers at work they are now quick to point out Manchester actually has a higher crime rate than Liverpool!
