Anyways, the “indefinitely delay reunification” statement was added only after 1995. The reason for this was ROC President Lee Teng-hui, then coming off of cross-straits talks with China, said that from now on there are two governments and two states in the Taiwan Straits. China broke off talks and declared that “indefinite” delay was not acceptable.
I never heard a deadline for war because of this statement. If there were, money would be fleeing Taiwan and the Chinese coast right now. No one wants to be caught in an inevitable war.
In fact, everything points to the opposite. Intensifying movement of investment and people from Taiwan to the mainland. If there is violent “bluster,” people would be running in the other direction.

Also, you need to state your position with clear precise sentences. You use too much allusions, allegories and exclamations in your posts which leads to people scratching their heads all the time.

This is too long and off-kilter. You should say: “These groups would have been encouraged to flame.”

That’s a silly statement. China and most Chinese had never said that Taiwan will be attacked. China simply does not rule out the military option if Taiwan declares independence. So where is the bluster?
Anyone with a remote understanding of China/Taiwan can see right off the bat that economics between the two is paramount. If conflict comes, the most powerful and devasting blows would be through economics.
The only people who like to talk about the military option are Americans and a few pro-independence people. Because in reality, war and subsequent US support is the only way Taiwan can become independent. If there is no war, economic and cultural entanglement through time will make Taiwan part of Greater China. It’s that simple.
This isn’t UK/Argentina or US/Iraq or India/Pakistan where the two combatants actually despise each other and have little or no trade and no cultural interaction.
You can see the difference in this forum. There are no F-CK-1/J-10 arguments like LCA/FC-1. Most Chinese, myself included, are pretty proud of Taiwanese aircraft.
Think about it, there are one million Taiwanese living in China while the Taiwanese population is only 20 million. That number grows every year.
No one on either side wants war. And from the amount of investment into Chinese coast, most people in the area don’t think there would be war. Money flees dangerous situations.

BEIJING, Nov 2 (AFX) – China’s Jiangxi Changhe Aviation Industry Co. Ltd and Augusta Westland have agreed to jointly produce the world’s fastest light double-engine helicopters, the Xinhua news agency said.
Jiangxi, based in east China’s Jiangxi province and Augusta (Xetra: 508860.DE – news) , the UK’s GKN PLC and Italy’s Finmeccanica SpA (Milan: SIFI.MI – news) helicopter joint venture, signed the agreement at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, an annual airshow in southern China’s Zhuhai city.
The pact covers the setting up of a joint venture company, an official with the Jiangxi firm was quoted by Xinhua as saying, with all production activities for the A109E eventually transferred to China.
The venture will take over marketing of the helicopters in China, and is expected to start delivering A109E helicopters to the Chinese market in 2005, the official said.
The new company will service the new crafts, and all other Augusta products in China.
The A109E, put on the market in 1997, is a light double-engine helicopter, with strong performance particularly in high temperature and high altitude, Xinhua said.
Also, a first look at the 5/6 ton project! This is the civilian version. There is a separate military lift. (GD’s note: People had initially assumed the WZ-10 to be the attack variant of this project but that doesn’t seem to be the case.)

There is no such thing as a maritime embargo. An embargo is a simple refusal to buy from a particular source. You’re confusing embargo with a blockade. An embargo, not even a blockade, from its largest market is devastating to an export orient entity like Taiwan.
And, where is Taiwan military in all these description?
You’re right. The Taiwanese military would be very important, especially during a civil war on the island that is bound to break out. Sixty Taiwanese retired generals had actually protested against the current $18 billion military budget. There are hundreds of ROC officers who have retired to China. The ROC’s military is traditionally pro-unification.
The risk of bloody fighting on Taiwan if independence is ever declared is great even before the first landing of the PLA. There are over one million Taiwanese living in China today. Don’t ignore the ties to China for a large chunk of Taiwan’s population and especially Taiwan’s military.

According to Avia.ru, China has terminated the 200 Su-27SK contract. Russian kit deliveries is currently at 95.
Several possibilities: 1) the J-11 is now fully localized as the J-11B? 2) the J-11 contract is now switched to Su-27SKM? Or 3) the Su-27 line is dropped entirely to give way to the J-10?

Home-made gas turbine debuted
QC185, a gas turbine for ships and navy vessels developed by China, debuted at the air show in Zhuhai on November 1.This means China will less depend on engine imports in its defense and heavy industry.
A gas turbine is a new generation of engine powered by clean energy. It is extensively used for power generation, tanks, ships and navy vessels. At present only a few countries including US, UK and France are able to develop gas turbines independently.
QC185 is the result of the joint efforts of Shenyang Aero-Engine Institute and Shengyang Liming Aero-Engine Group. Its general performance has proved to be advanced in the world. And it will hopefully replace the imports in a few years.
