China launches two satellites
From AP
April 19, 2004CHINA launched two new research satellites into space early Monday, including a 25kg “micro satellite” that scientists heralded as a technological breakthrough, the government said.
A single Long March 2 C carrier rocket blasted off at 11:59 p.m. Sunday from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan with the two satellites on board, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
About 12 minutes after liftoff, the carrier rocket first released the 204kg Experiment Satellite 1, which Xinhua described as “China’s first transmission-type small satellite capable of stereo mapping.” Its functions include surveying China’s land resources, the agency said.
Then, 30 seconds later, the rocket released the much smaller Nano-satellite 1, which will be used for high-tech experiments, Xinhua said.
It said the launch made China only the fourth country to launch a “nano” or “micro” satellite, after Russia, the United States and Britain.
Its lighter weight points to a trend toward ever smaller satellites, Xinhua said.
China last year put a human into space – the third country to do so after Russia and the United States – providing massive prestige to the Communist regime and the military-linked space program.

Got it.
I’ll post something up if it’s an success 😀

OK.
About that going supersonic… Was it in the media in China?
Not yet, PLA, I haven’t come across anything said explicitly that it went supersonic. But I’m certain there will be in few days even if it’s a rewrite of the Pakistani report.

Matt… I meant it funny. Meaning… A bit high loaded and needing an arrestor hook to stop…No, I think there is probaly intrest by the Chinese NAVY. Compare it wil LCA navy version. 🙂
PLA, please don’t bring the LCA into this discuss.
Right now, you are the only one replying to flamers and also bringing up subjects that attract them.
So please don’t mention that plane or that country again in this thread. If you do then I know you are just trying to attract flamers.
The only thing that should be heard here is the FC-1. And Pakistan and China which are involved in making it.
Please post news and photos!
Thank you for your cooperation 😀
GD, can you find a way to import an “*.MD3” file to 3DSMax?
Becuase I can export this type too.
There’s actually a 3D Max plugin for the MD3 format. I’ve downloaded it. So send your model in MD3 and I’ll try importing it.
Oh, I just read your message.
Did you try this site?
http://www.worldzone.net/games/azrael_dark/PROJECT_ZERO/GMAX.html
It has plugins for GMax that might allow it to export to MDL that FS uses or 3ds that Max could use for rendering.

You always have to learn from someone.. Look at the US.. They have done nothing but copying German technology during the whole 50s and 60s. Does this make their achievements less impressive?
The one country in the world that fought both the US and the USSR when both were superpowers.
When the bulk of the massive air force was built (the ancient J-6s, Q-5s and J-7s), it was isolated from both East and West.
After 1970s, we saw a new beginning in the JH-7.
Now if copying and spitting out planes is all that simple then every midway power from Chile to Kenya would have hundreds and hundreds of homemade jets 😉
But there were home projects that didn’t entirely pan out, the original J-10 and J-12, the J-9 and line of others.
The J-8 is homegrown although based on the J-7.
When the J-8 was developed in the mid 1960s, China was entirely isolated with a hot war along the Russian border and J-6s and Phantom IIs actually shooting each other down around Hainan.
Britain is in the P-5?
Erez. that looks good in Flight Sim!!!
Hey, some of the pencil drawings are pretty good, but, you’re right, Bug Lover’s Phantom is very nice.

Can’t get any more interesting than aircraft from every member of the P-5!
Iran, Sweden and Peru are my others. Sub-saharan African nations such as Namibia and Zimbabwe are cool too.

Good point and great article from Dawn. There are now two flying ptypes they could test the performance envelope.
He said a number of countries were interested in buying the aircraft. He said the Chinese air force had ordered the aircraft in big numbers.
That is the only way for the FC-1’s project leader to predict 1000 planes. The PLAAF would be taking a good size order 😀

Silly rabbit, Cobras are just for air shows
