My rendition of the first J-10B prototype 😀
Actually, baby Vulcan. The daddy is six barrels and can fire up to 6000 rounds per minute.
It was the 33rd straight successful laucnh in a seven year period.
The night shot of the joint ESA-China “Double Star” Probe No. 1 occurred early Tuesday morning from Xichang in Southwestern China.

First joint China-European satellite successfully launched
30 December 2003
The first ever joint Chinese-European space mission — a satellite designed to study the earth’s magnetic field — was successfully launched Tuesday from a base in southwest China.
Witnesses said the high-altitude Explorer 1 was sent into orbit by a Long March 2C/SM rocket at 3:06 am (1906 GMT Monday) from the Xichang Satellite Launching Center in Sichuan province.
Tracking reports from the Xi’an Satellite Monitor and Control Center showed the launch went to plan, with the satellite expected to work in space for 18 months, the Xinhua news agency reported.
The mission — the first time European experiments have been integrated with Chinese satellites — is the first of two elements in the joint Sino-European “Double Star” project.
A polar satellite is expected to go up within six months.
Everything is Lavi-based to Erez.
In spite of Israel vehemently denying it, Erez knows those sneaky Jews would be selling stuff to the Chinese so they could backstab the Americans every chance they get 😀
WTF?
Why show a model like it’s big news?
We already have pictures of the real thing.
PLA, I think it is a rehash of earlier videos but this one seems to be a little better quality.
Yeah, Pete, the Chinese forums have all sorts of great artists. A lot of them make stuff that are funny as hell 😀
reposting some of the latest picts for archival purposes.

That aircraft thread in cgtalk.com is pretty cool, Mixtec. I notice several of the best CG artists from the Chinese language forums there: Stinger and Songbird.
And they say Chinese people have no creativity 😀

Good work as always.
Why didn’t you conncet the wings to the fuselage?
Yes, the proper way to build this is to either build the wings out from the fuselage through tesselation or to use patch components so you can connect a separate wing to the fuselage. I was being lazy and I wanted to paint the plane in different schemes easily so I left them as different mesh components. Depending on how much time I want to put into the rendering, the junction lines could be smoothed out.
I’ll hang some ordnance on this model after I do some more research and make the time to build them.
We’ll see how close to the real J-10B when we get pictures. The two-seater supposedly flew a few weeks ago.
I use an older version of 3D Max mainly. I’ve use Maya as well as Anim8or. I’ve never used Amapi so that was someone else who suggested it. People also suggest GMax which is a knocked down version of 3D Max you could download free.
I’m a former CAD guy who got started on drafting and 3D rendering in college (before moving on to writing and software). I was a frustrated engineer 🙁
I used to port a few models into Jane’s Fleet Command as far as games are concerned.
